It's driving me crazy. John Wayne, a familiar character actor, and Martin Landau(?) in the background.

I honestly don't remember where I got the photo. I do have a collection of pool hall and pool celebrety photoes on my laptop. Everytime I see a pool photo I like, I add it to the MyPictures folder. Windows allows you to cycle through that file as a screen saver.

I wanted to find the name of this movie so I could rent and see it, but the poster idea is a good one.

That explains it, thanks.

I tried to compare the filmography of John Wayne to that of Martin Landau and could not find any movies that they were in together. I was never sure it was Martin Landau; the picture is indistinct.
 
Charles Coburn is the kindly priest in the foreground.

Now I will have to figure out who the guy is in the background sitting on the table. The one I was thinking was Martin Landau but might not be.
 
The only one in the credits as a "pool player" is Ned Glass, the guy he was playing during the movie.

Ned Glass was the store owner in West Side Story where the Jets hung out and had their war counsel.

Thank you for bringing this movie to my attention. It's awesome. And the way the priest racked the balls? I'm going to try that tonight.

Gotta see this movie just for the 10 or so minutes of the less than realistic pool.

Love it!

Martin Landau was in Film Trix with Lloyd Kaufman.

Lloyd Kaufman was in Super with Kevin Bacon. :)

You and me both. I have to go through all of my Duke movies to see if it's in there, but I don't recall it. I'll be adding it if it's not there.
