on them for commentary? I am a big fan and like to hear his words of wisdom, can anyone tell me which matches he does commentary on? :)

Either ask Accu-Stats to send you a catalog (Look for "JE" initials for commentator) or go to their site and type in JE in the search area.

Ignore any matches with players who have JE in their name like Jeremy Jones or Jeanette Lee and he should be a commentator on that match.

Lenny,

He did a few matches in Roanoke in 95/96ish. There is also a tape of him playing at one of those tourneys.

Sorry I don't have exact match names.

Ian

Hi Lenny,

I think the infamous Corey breaking hard match of 1-pocket against Shannon has Ervolino commentating. But I must warn you JE's voice is not easy to listen to, although he does have some good things to say.

Hope this helps,

Dave

Thanks, I have this video and on this Thursday morning I just finished watching it, now I am watching Shannon vs Grady from the same tourney. :)

I happen to be one who thinks Ervolino has a very eloquent way of saying things. He's like a hummingbird landing on a daisy. Very delicate.

Johnny played pretty good at that tournament, so did Mizerak. All Kim Steel tables if I remember right.

Im actually one of the strange ones that LIKES listening to JE's voice

Lenny, a very generous poster on here a while back offered up a DVD of Ervolino giving a straight pool lesson. Its great, he spends time talking before the lesson not knowing the camera was rolling so he was talking about things other than pool. Then he gives the lesson with the tape rolling. I hope you were lucky enough to get a hold of one of them as its one of my favorite things in my collection.

Forgot to mention that I was watching some of my straight pool tapes the other night, it was Johnny playing Earl in Earls first straight pool tournament. Johhny opened up with a run of 80 something I believe :)

He kinda ran out of gas after that, but man it was fun while it lasted :D

He played and I think did some commentary for The Maine Event, a straight pool tournament from way back... the roanoke thing is this: 1995 Roanoke One-Pocket Championship.

I think it's Grady who likes to talk about the mellifluous voice of the great Golden Foghorn.
