Depends on what you mean by rescue. It doesn't have any special collectible value and isn't suitable for a conversion, at least in the traditional way. But could you do something with it and make a cue suitable for play? Sure, albeit one with slightly odd dimensions. You won't likely get any return on investment, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be a cool piece to own and maybe use. Personally I'd think of it as I would antique furniture. You want to clean it up, fill any checks with CA glue, maybe add some varnish but certainly not a refinish job with a modern finish, put a non-layered tip on it, and have a go with it every once in a while for kicks.
