That is how his name appears on his Facebook page.

Can Wang is a very composed player and he played some of the best pool I have seen. Like any player, he can become frustrated like when Mika was beating on him. Previously, while he was beating on many other top players, he showed no emotion. When Mika started spanking him, he started slapping his hand on the table or his leg showing that he is human.

Conversely, I saw Can Wang beating on SVB (10-2) and with the excellent play and the nice rolls Can Wang was receiving; Shane finally got a straight in, long shot on the one ball and missed it.

I hope young Can Wang inspires nations of youth to take up this sport.

Hell, he even inspired me with his consistent play. For a while, I thought he was impervious to pressure.

I had hoped to talk him out of his break sleeve and keep it as a souvenir. :D Time passed rather quickly and I didn't have time to make a trade with him.

So true Joey. Watching these young guns inspires me and has the effect of boosting my own game.
I figure that if these boys can play the game as great as they do certainly an old dog like myself must be even better;).
Jayson Shaw and Phil Burford are a couple that are amazing to watch in match play also.

Could you please be a little more descriptive of what the "sleeve" is? :confused:

I like pictures. I googled him and decided to insert a smiling can Wang in the thread. :)

Notice he has a designer man purse. ;)

At this past week's Ultimate 10 Ball Championship, Phil Burford was kind enough to spend some quality time with this old dog, showing him a few new pool tricks. :thumbup:

He also showed me how easy it is to attract beautiful, young women. :D

The sleeves are used primarily for the break shot.

A few of the International stars had these little sleeves that slide onto the cue and your fingers wrap around the sleeve and the cue stick slides through the sleeve effortlessly. I heard one player mention that it keeps from blistering the fingers if you hold the cue stick tightly.

Can Wang used one that was orange in color. The one below is the one used by Ivica Putnik and is called the Perfector. I wanted Can Wang's sleeve for a memento to remind me of his superlative breaking and consistent play. :)

Nice write up Joey. What you failed to mention about the above in red and Shane's miss was that Can Wang pushed out to the straight in shot. It looked to be a slap in Shane's face to say "Here you go", and you still won't beat me.

I don't know Chinese culture that well, so I don't know if the young kids have that cocky bravado in them to pull this on a seasoned professional. But that's what it looked like on the stream.

Only Can knows why he did it. But it was an interesting move.

I think Can did what any poolplayer would do in that situation. He played extremely well and tested Shane on that shot when Shane was at his weakest. I'm not sure if it was bravado or not.

I would think Shane might like another shot at him for some big dough. :smile:

Most likely, but you would need to inquire with Ray Hansen (Big Truck) about that match. I want to say that I read something about Ray offering some of the last matches for a small fee but I'm not sure if that match was included or not.

From the looks of it, Ga Young and all the Asians seem to like Can Wang a lot-Here he is hanging w Dennis OK we will try once more
