This is a spinoff from the other thread.

Here are the rules:

Diamond table with 4.25" pockets
Simonis cloth
Break and take ball in hand
Win the game without missing

Balls stay down on the break
Scratches on the break don't cause a loss
combos, caroms, kisses are all legal

Don't have any gaffed up Diamonds around here, only standard 4 5/8" pockets, so I didn't vote. On the two here, which are standard Diamonds, I can beat it most of the time.
 
Neil, is 4 5/8" the standard? A room just opened up here with 10 and they measure 4.25". Just wondering if the owner ordered them that way.
 
I have a Diamond ProAm 7ft. Does that count. If yes, then I win some times.

Two balls won't fit in the opening at the same time on yours? On ours, you can put two balls between the points and have an 1/8" gap between them. That makes them 4 5/8". Where are you measuring yours from?

I see. They are definitely different then. I do the same and they won't fit with about 1/4" overlap. I wonder what the standard is or if they even have one?

I don't see anything on their site saying pocket dimensions. ???

I believe the standard for a Diamond Pro is 4.5"...

On Monday I'll check Shawn's at MBC and let you know, I carry around a tape measure with me in my cue case...

My Diamond pro is 4.5 and the Ghost is up 4 to 1, it aint looken good right now for Cuebuddy.
 
Well its over, 10 to 5 and I shot ok. Not my best but I have played worse. I broke good and all breaks were between 19 and 23 mph.
I made one combo on the cheese and missed one.
 
I have never beaten the ghost in a race to 10 on a Diamond Pro. I have however come very close with races ending 6-8 wins in a race to 9. Nothing is worse that going hill hill and dogging an easy 8 :angry:


Still missing shots nowadays but not nearly as much ;)
 
Never tried the ghost on a diamond pro am, much less a 4.25" pocket pro am. How does it compare against a metro in terms of difficulty? I usually practice on a metro.
 
A diamond pro is one of the most difficult tables to play on...

Actually when the pockets are tighter than 4.5" they play a little easier, not harder.

It has to do with the facing angle, the depth of the pocket shelves and the curvature of the pocket shelves, the closer to the center of the pocket you get, the shallower the shelving is....All of those things combined make a diamond pro one of the more difficult tables to play on until you learn how to play on it.

You pushed me to most of the time :P.. 8-over and 9ft AE Scmidts... the ghost is seeking a backer!!!
