Can you see what i see**********

Watcha talking about Sly it looks like Vise marks or something in the cue ... The pic is pretty blurry what is that line running down the center of the point?

Leon's a CTPFS ( can't take picture for s#!% ) .
Real cam pics please.
Different veneer thickness ?

is it all the dust in the veneers? that picture is pretty blurry but i do see a lot of random brown marks from the snakewood in the blue veneer.

oh wth? i thought that was just glare lol. cuz when i take pics there's usually a line of glare running down the middle from the light shining off of the finish at the highest point of the surface of the cue.

sorry for the blurry pics but i'm Like two inches from the cue with 4 power zoom lens...ok Look down the middle of the inner point wood there is 1/8 inch wide black epoxy glue Line and the point wood is rosewood wy is there a 1/8 wide black epoxy glue Line down the middle of all four points I have the cue here at my shop and this cue Looks "BAD" very :shakehead::shakehead::yikes::yikes::shocked2::shocked2:

It's there to lower deflection.
I thought that was just some reflection or flash glare.

It's quite possible that the cue didn't leave the builder's shop this way.
We're talking Snakewood here, notorious for cracking.
We don't know the history of the cue, who's owned it or if repairs were made
at some point in it's life (and by who).
Show & Tell is cool but discretion here should be paramount.

this is a 4 point scruggs that I sold to BobCo. I got this cue from Joe at classic cues and didn't think there was anything wrong with it. Shot with it for a few months with no issues ..

Are you saying that the cue was repaired leon?

like leon said, point wood is rosewood not snakewood.

here are photos i took of the cue before sending it out .. i did see lines on the points but i didnt know they were epoxy lines. what does that mean?

Oh , Hell...It's about to hit the fan.... I know I am not the only one that can see the dark line running up the center of the point ... I did'nt think that was suppose to be there but did not know what it was.

I don't know who made the cue but YOU should have this thread deleted and kindly tell your friend to post the thread himself. Are you sure you want to put yourself in the situation of judging other Cue makers work on an open forum. I've always liked you but I'm a bit disappointed you would do this. Twent years now, that I have been doing cues and I have never forgot about yesterday or the promise of tomorrow.

I've checked all my pics and there is nothing showing on that cue. I am as stumped as Jet.. Just to comment on the pic, one guy thinks its snakewood, I thought it was ebony and one guy thinks its rosewood.. I'd like to see this cue with the finish off it and with a good pic.

Do you know for a fact the epoxy was done by the original cuemaker? If so, do you know all the facts behind it? Otherwise, this thread is just in poor taste. I'd bet most cuemakers have a cue or two out there that they wished they never let leave the shop.
