While I was buying some product from a billiard store, they threw in a new cube of Silver Cup chalk.
I could have sworn that I tried it years ago and found it poor, but couldn't remember for certain. So I tried it again.
I couldn't believe how bad it was. I kept setting up some practice shots with extreme English and miscued every single time. It didn't seem to matter how I stroked the ball. Carefully or not, it miscued.
Then I put on the usual Masters chalk and made the shots over and over again without a single miscue.
Incidentally, this was on a brand new shaft with a new, nicely shaped tip. I continued using the shaft for several sets that day and never miscued (with Masters chalk).
So, is anyone going to reply and tell me that it's their favorite chalk for some reason? Or that I must have had (another) defective cube of their chalk? :grin-square:
