Are they better than these graphite shafts I'm seeing on these fine cues from champion Steve Mizerak?
That's not their claim, but they claim extremely low cueball deflection. On a firm, no swerve shot with inside english, it does go closer to straight than any other shaft.
But I teach a method to compensate for that amount of English. Are you saying this would be the first you hear of this also????
Chris...Don't know if you know this, but Steel Stix were the prototypes for Cuetec. They came out of the same factory in China, and were imported to the USA by the same person, just prior to Cuetec. I sold a whole bunch of Steel Stix cues in MT in the 80's...and then a bunch of Cuetecs in the 90's. Strickland's white Cuetec was a really hot seller...everybody wanted to own the cue that Earl Strickland played with. 
When Cuetec became established, the company (J.S.Sales) discontinued production of Steel Stix cues.

Physically not possible because, anytime you hit a full tip off center horizontally, their ''has'' to be a slight cue ball squirt left or right.

I'm guessing you are making a joke; however, I haven't read a single revo thread - there are plenty of threads that I never open because the subject doesn't interest me. I have always used a wood shaft and can't imagine putting a dark grey shaft on the end of any of my cues, which are mostly maple forearm. Having said that, your thread got me curious and I just got back from hitting with my friend's revo. I have to say - it was pretty amazing. I didn't like the slightly dull hit, but there wasn't any deflection - it was simple to pocket balls.
It makes me wonder if wooden shafts will eventually go the way of wooden golf club shafts and wooden tennis rackets.
Doubt it.
Just as wood acoustic guitars are not going carbon fiber.
I'm talking about sports equipment or at least things used to hit balls.

of course there is personal preference and adjustment
i have never owned any high tech cue or shaft
other than thev maple pie shafts paul mottey used to make
i have hit one from time to time when asked to at the pool room
but the feel was missing for me
i never really understood squirt ,deflection and such so i
pretty much avoided inide english except when the object ball was frozen to the rail
or the ball was very close to the pocket,i even missed them once in a while
in answer to the ?, I was not joking about this question
i confess,i don't read many of the threads on tech questions
i think we can honestly expect a good report

John Brumback uses maple....my thinking, better feel of the shot when banking. What I did notice tho at the US Open and DCC this year.....when a player would elevate over a ball and shoot a draw shot, these types of shafts seemed to create allot more draw than a maple shaft. Also, when the pros had a draw shot, where the object ball was 3-5' away from the object ball, there was more spin remaining on the cue ball when it hit the target ball, than maple ever could/did. I was often surprised when seeing a shot hit pure, the cue ball movement when compared to maple. If I was starting out I think an LD shaft would be a good starting point but make sure your taper is what you want. After a couple years of playing/improving then try one out.
