Carolina Custom Cue - worth $1350?

FAST_N_LOOSE said:
I Will Try To Find Out What Retail Price Would Be If It Was Ordered From Carolina Directly. If I Find Out, I Will Post It.

I HATE TO DO THIS, BUT THAT CUE IS 1100 IF ORDERED FROM CAROLINA.

SO, NOW SOMEBODY GO FIND ME A CUEMAKER TO MAKE ME AN EIGHT POINT CUE,(WITH TRUE SPLICED POINTS) WITH A LEATHER WRAP, MY CHOICE OF VENEERS, WEIGHT, AND LENGTH, FOR 1100.00 AND I WILL BE IMPRESSED.

Well put... In case there is any question I have semi-detailed timeline on both the duration of "production" cues at Black Boar (limited to the first couple of years) and Bill McDaniel's participation in the first set of cues made.

Can't speak to Carolina Cues and I won't try... picking a cue is subjective...I just hope you find the right cue for you! Good Luck!

As the Historian for BB,can you expound on McDaniel's involvement with BB as related to you by Tony. I know, and several others do also, but I think the majority of AZ'ers would like to hear the story ,for clarity,if nothing more.

IF YOU COULD PUT A COHERENT THOUGHT IN A POST, I WOULD VALUE YOUR OPINION.

I WOULD AGREE THAT A GILBERT AT THIS POINT WILL BE A BETTER CUE, BUT IT WILL COST YOU THREE TIMES AS MUCH AS A CC.

P.S. I THINK YOU MAY HAVE SOME UNDERLYING ISSUES WITH CC, AND THAT'S WHERE THESE POSTS ARE COMING FROM

FNL i have no problem with the CC cues or the makers. All i was saying Is that i could not and would not buy a cue from a new Cue maker at 1300 or more .

CC makes a nice looking cue but if the price was better i'll just might get one to see how they hit .Something low end to start out ,then maybe put more money into another one somewere down the line .

I was not looking to start a war over this, it's just talk about a cue stick. and a price ,For POOL STICK IT'S WOOD. NOT GOLD
My 2cents..
.

THANKS MARTIN, EVERY ONCE IN AWHILE I HAVE A GOOD POINT.

P.S. I THINK THE GUY ATTACKING CC IS SOMEONE WHO HAS HAD A PAST BAD DEAL WITH CAROLINA, AND I ALSO THINK HE HAS MORE THAN ONE USER ID.

FNL
I feel you have mixed up with a guy that was on here sometime back and i'm not him or who ever .

So i ask you don't put in with someone a lot of people in here had some bad blood or whatever with ,I'm me and thats the only i can be...
Thanks .

Thats what I did. Their cues hit good. Workmanship on the three I have had has been good as well. And they are getting better.

Realizm,
I Am Also Not Looking For A War.

I Am Only Discussing The Work, And The Pricing For These Cues.

Yes The Shop Is Set Up To Turn Out Large Numbers Of Cues, So In A Sense It Is Production. They Also On The Other Hand Build True Custom Cues, Where The Customer Gets To Choose Everything About The Cue. That I Consider To Be Custom. Give Any Of The Production Companies A Call, And See If You Can Design Your Own Cue, And See What Price They Give You.

The Cue That Is In This Thread Is An 1100 Dollar Cue From Carolina. My Only Point Is, There Is No Cuemaker, That I Know Of, That Can Give You That Much Work For The Same Price.

I Can Also Say That I Have A Batch Of Cues Coming From These Guys, That I Am Certain, The Production Cue Shops Could Not/would Not Build For Anyone. I Will Post Pictures As Soon As I Have Them.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS IN THAT POST THAT MAKES THEM BS CUEMAKERS? CAN YOU EXPLAIN IT TO ME?

I KNOW HE SAID PRODUCTION SHOP, AND I HAVEN
'T SAID THEY WEREN'T, BUT I DID SAY THAT THEY ALSO BUILD NICE CUSTOM CUES AS WELL. AND FOR THE PRICE OF THE CUSTOMS, THEY ARE TOUGH TO BEAT.

IF YOU CAN BUILD A TRADITIONALLY SPLICED 8 POINT CUE, WITH INLAYS, AND A LEATHER WRAP, AS CHEAP AS THEY CAN, YOU SHOULD START. I AM SURE YOU WOULD HAVE ALL THE ORDERS YOU COULD HANDLE.

P.S. I KNOW YOU CLAIMED YOU AREN'T DEADSTROKE32, BUT I CAN TELL YOU THAT I DON'T BELIEVE YOU, AND THAT MANY OTHERS ON THIS FORUM DON'T BELIEVE YOU EITHER. AND IF YOU AREN'T THE THEIF THAT SCREWED CC CUES OVER, THEN YOU AT SOME POINT ALSO HAD SOMETHING GO WRONG WITH THEM.

P.S.S. I WON'T BE SELLING ANY OF MY CC CUES TO YOU, I WOULDN'T WANT YOU TO TELL ME HOW OVERPRICED IT IS.

I WOULDN'T EVEN WANT TO KNOW WHAT YOUR "RIGHT" PRICE WOULD BE. I'M SORRY, I DON'T THINK THEY CAN BUILD YOU A CUE WITH 100 INLAYS FOR 40 DOLLARS.

I ALSO SAW SOME THAT WERE NOT PERFECT. I POINTED OUT THE FLAWS, AND THEY ARE CONTINUALLY GETTING BETTER. I FEEL THAT STATING THEY WERE TERRIBLE, IS UNFAIR. I'VE SEEN A LOT OF CUES, AND THESE WERE NOT ANYWHERE NEAR THE WORST THAT I HAVE SEEN.

I saw the same, said something, they knew it already ... and they went home from VF hoping to "fix it". I think they will. None of the ones I have had, were flawed. The wood they used was was spectacular.

Just so you know, Dieter's last name is spelled Eisele not Eisley. It's pronounced Eyes-a-lay.

I know Dieter very well. He is especially proud of having outfitted Bustamante with the Black Boar at the time. And he is equally proud of pointing out that Bustamante has never done as well with the Bear Brand made by Falcon.

Thank you for putting up this history of Black Boar cues. It just goes to show that there are many paths to a great achievement and often many hands share in it.

id hate to see the cues your talking about. i think they have a good eye for whats nice and they will be good. but the cues i saw that im talking about were just as i said b4 terrible. i wouldnt have even taken they with me to the sho. ive never seen points os uneven. my first cue was alot better than these. they are getting it together. the cues are pretty. i just couldnt brlieve they had those for sale or to show. if mottey made a cue like that hed throw it right in the fireplace. would NEVER leave his shop! thats what i was saing. i know every1 has to start somewhere. my finish IMO is subpar. i dont show my cues to really anyone yet and i make a very solid cue but my finish needs time
