With all the DCC talk going on i'm curious if anyone would know what having a pool tournament like DCC does to the daily take? Do the players/stakers/sweators do much for the casino's bottom line compared to a decent average week?

Maybe if you want to know the Casino take during DCC, you should got to work at Casino to learn what they took in.

Cesar’s is not going to share that info, it’s none of you business.

Just like the kickback on rooms, etc. from Cesar’s to DCC Promoter is not your business.

just curious how much. a lot of people that go to Derby are not casino-ites and never do much other than toss $20 at a slot machine. having the hotel full is probably as big a plus for the venue as anything.

Most of the time the best thing that can happen to a person when they first go to a casino is just lose badly ..... When someone chances a 20 or so and hits a jack pot for the first time ... Often this gets them addicted ... Those small contributions can be the beginning of a gambling problem.

I cannot answer, but it has to be better than the CES, consumer electronics show.

That is the week experienced tipped employees in LV take time off, from wait staff to valets to dealers.

Geeks don't tip well, if at all.
Prolly don't gamble much, either.

What was the saying in LV? They bring a shirt and a $20 bill and don’t change either one during the CES. 😝

No idea, but don't overlook that the pool players bring a lot of action to the sportsbook at Caesars, too. The 2025 Derby took place over both the NFL Division Playoffs and the NFL Conference Championships, not to mention the college football championship game between Ohio St and Notre Dame.

I doubt even the good folks at Diamond know the answer to your question.

I was just sitting here thinking about the 9 foot table, pool scene in the US, if foreign players had not become some of the top players in the world, and opened up all that new revenue to the pool world. {mostly equipment sales}.
What would have happened in the last 5 years
Paying the same prizes or less, than what was paid 30 years ago , should tell even someone with a a concrete block on top of their shoulders ,that something is terribly wrong.
Also , as far as the gambling aspect at high levels, if you take Tony Chohan out of the equation, how many big matches would have happened. The whole thing seems to be hanging on a shoestring to me.

small % hold in the pit, but fills rooms and gives some side money during a dead period.

I figure major impact for the casino given the number of people traipsing in for over a week in during an otherwise dead winter month.

I vaguely recollect that in MO the casinos had to publicly post their take each month. Don't know about IN.

I googled it after your post. They do have a monthly report online at the Indiana Gaming Commission. December’24 is the latest. I’m not going to go try to analyze the monthly figures. But someone who cares to do so can. 😉

I don't think anyone has to analyze.

My wife tells a story about a brother in-law.
He attended a chemical/chemical engineering conference held in Las Vegas with 1,000+ attendees over 4 days.
The Casinos ask them never to return. ...

the casinos give special room rates and big perks to the organizers. if the people dont spend money in the pits then they dont get to come back next year.
