Challenge Match For Russ

Kevin,
Some of us aren't half as impressed with him as you are.
Sorry, but I think Russ enjoys all of the attention he's getting and there is nothing more to it. No harm in that. There is also no harm in the fun that has occurred in this thread - and there has been a lot of it. I hope mnorwood reconsiders his statement, he's great to have around. Russ is too, even if it is just for the entertainment value of his posts.

Some of us woof because its fun. Some of us woof because it stirs the pot. Some of us woof to puff our chest out. Some of us woof because we can back it up. My mouth has never outrun my talent, and yes, I can back that statement up any time - without needing 2 years to prepare for it.

We have been online a long time from r.s.b days, though my moniker has changed as failed hard drives and operating systems changed as well. I know you, you may know me by my posting tone. Never said I was impressed with him, just that I think I have some understanding and could perhaps find an interesting conversation with him away from the clamoring hordes looking to match up since he is now dubbed forever short bus russ in the minds of 85% that probably can't play with him, you and others excepted of course.

In fact, I merely see shades of myself 12 years ago on a.s.p and r.s.b on the way back when machine, thats all. Woofing has many levels as you say, but the post saying sorry dropped the fun points where you can still in fun bag on him, so now you are turning mean in my opinion, and not undeservedly totally but still not Christian-like in turning the other cheek, unless it is your mean-sided butt-cheek I see peeking out pink or brown there, not quite clearly seen yet. Uhm, don't take that as badly as it sounds on second read. :) I thought you had turned a Christian streak, was it old testament or new?

Actually, I was really thinking of a former revered poster on r.s.b that was older and just wanted everyone to get along... his name slips me, but his memory and spirit lives on in me at least, and methinks you wrote a eulogy to his family. He was a hell of a guy and a generous spirit, if you can find the kicking academy posts perhaps you can dredge up some his best of R.S.B posts as well. And I am not talking OHB Tom Ferry, this probably comes 5 years or more before him.

I only say Russ has 2 years to prepare, then he says he will back it up (or backup, god forbid sense should intervene in the midst of stupid war) and, despite his bravado efforts to keep the pot stirring, I find his apology note more likely characteristic of the person behind the name, and more likely interesting over a beer or 4 in quiet nook than WOOFDogs that had their fun day in the sun piling on. No doubt if that quiet discussion come, like you had with Danny Harriman, all the noise outside just blots out some information I for one don't mind listening to, not to say I take any or all as truth. FWIW.

And good day, David. Maybe in DCC this year we can meet.

I have been to the green zone, to Baghdad, to Balad, to Qatar, to Kuwait......the list goes on. The American public only hears the horror stories that come back, and nothing of the good things out there. Sure, there are mortar and rocket attacks, but that is why Russ is making the BIG BUCKS!!! Things are not as bad out there as people make them out to be, especially if you sit behind a computer all day, even if it happens to be in the green zone. If anyone wants to have a discussion about this, please PM me, I have lots to say about this!

Precisely the prince of a fellow I was thinking about.

Kudos to you, and your hamburgers. I made some up and shared the recipe around, but came up stumped on "Cajun Power spice" so improvised on my idea of a new awlins type of thing.

I don't have my name in the AZ database, haven't bothered. In the first place I live overseas and only make it back in the fall for a month, and that with famliy obligations attached so little time to set up anything or go to tournaments for that matter. Second place, I don't live here daily, just pop in once a week or so and scroll back 3-4 pages to beat some dead dogs once again.

Practically speaking the gambling side just doesn't float my boat like it does for some around here. When I have been to Vegas or Atlantic City or the race tracks, the writer in me just watches in sick fascination as so many "winners" keep heading back to the ATM's to vacuum their last cash out to keep the blinky lights going till "their" time comes. I don't get the appeal of noise and diminished bankroll for "entertainment" that doesn't entertain me. Japanese Pachinko is about the worst of all worlds IMO. That said I will play pool for money, but that is a skill game I have some say so over, but keep to the small side of betting for I have been guilty of overestimating my ability before. Betting or not, I love the game of pool and $$ just has nothing to do with it in the end in my view.

That said, Tokyo Dave or others in the greater Tokyo region in Japan or in the Lawrence KS vicinity in August can try and set some games up, PM is fine.

it is trying to wrap around!

kevin,

I think you have misunderstood the short bus' apology. You site that it was heartfelt, but it was actually a post lifted from another thread several weeks back. The poster who reprinted it here was showing the more hypocritical side (or "unstable") side of SBR.

You have attributed some sort or contrition where there is none.

If I am rude to you today, but apologized last month to another for the same infraction, amI obsolved from my shortcoming to you?

think about it.....

Neither Charlie or Grady deserve to be in the same company as SBR.

Everyone has their shortcomings, but Charlie and Grady have each done more for pro pool than any other people ALIVE!!!!!!!

Not saying they haven't done a lot for pool, just a little humor as I'm sure Charlie nor Grady will ever be on a pimped out short bus with Russ Chewning. If this ever does really happen then you need to play stronger than shortstop speed or else do not woof. They will most likely run over you.

Dang!
I can't believe this thread is still going.

Why don't we just put up a sticky titled Russ Sucks and leave it at that?

that's appropriate

that would sum it up in a nutshell! because Russ does suck!

It's The Same Old Song

"Short Bus" Russ recently had to contact Pat Fleming at Accu-Stat to tattletale on someone posting a link to some matches online, but 5 years ago he was calling for a BOYCOTT of Accu-Stat.
Interesting is the fact that he was also threatening to 'come back from Iraq' and play someone some pool for money. Some things never change.

I'll have to answer your question like I used to answer my mother when she asked, "what are you going to do with those seeds, when you finish that watermelon?".... There ain't gonna be no seeds, mom. "Well, what are you going to do with those bones when you finish that chicken ?".... There ain't gonna be no bones, mom. :)
