This is an open letter to all those I have offended in the past few weeks.
Going back and reading a lot of the posts before the current one that offended a lot of people, I saw in my own posts a bit of a growing anger. Quite a few of you chastised me for my disregard of others' feelings, and I have to say you have been right.
You've told me I am guilty of being sanctimonious, and looking at it from a realistic viewpoint, you are right. I have no right to judge others for what they have done in the past, and should strive to value a person for who they are now.
I see that I have been quick to jump on a soapbox, when the forums are about discussion. I saw some PMs from some people that I really respect, and that I offended them on a very personal level.
All I can say is that looking back at some of the things I've written, I am speechless at my own insensitivity. I am having a hard time writing this, because in my mind I am thinking "What can you possibly say to attain forgiveness?"
I've had some things happen in my life, and I think I've lashed out against others because something in me wished the world was perfect, and that bad things didn't happen.
I really want to be part of the community, but right now I don't think I can participate in the "hot" topics like religion, politics, drugs, etc.. I need to try to be both a little more understanding, and forgiving of others.
I know some things I have said will be brought up in some threads I may post in. I will strive to accept these comments without rebuke, as others have the right to revenge on someone who might have hurt them. I promise I am not going to let my words start any arguments that derail threads anymore.

What? I'm not the one who started this whole "short bus" thing,
but I will certainly run with it... If people want me to be "Short Bus Russ", that's who I'll be, with all the fixin's and trimmings.. And if a certain person who really doesn't want the conversation going towards retards and handicapped people doesn't stay out of the entertainment, he's going to become PART of the entertainment... wink wink..

Sheeehawt.. I might even use "short bus Russ" as my pool nickname. My nickname on every forum I've decided to not use my name on has been "Pogue". It is a derogatory term for a non front line guy in the Army. I picked that one myself. Fortunately, I was blessed with the ability to not give two s**ts what other people think. Thank goodness, that has saved me from years of American Idol.
