Before Bill Stroud made his bones as a visionary in this area, there were a lot of people that considered a radial pin the biggest bastard. Now look and see how many CMs are using them.
If something is advantageous to an engineering function of an item, ie. fit of a radial pin, then it will be judged over time.
These radial pins in different minor sizes ect, are a function of marketing for the competing companies, IMO. That makes it even more confusing as someone who is not experienced may think every radial pin is a standard.
Not being a person who wants to be an expert on radials, I just had a customer with this situation and I referred him to Ryan and everyone is very happy.
