I have an extra couple shafts lying around with what I believe to be aegis ferrules. I have never played that much with an ivory ferrule and am thinking of having one my extra shafts changed over to an ivory ferrule. I will be taking it to a excellent person for the work(dick neighbors, assuming he is has time for repair work.)
My general question(s) is, will changing the ferrule have any adverse affects to the shaft or is it safe to experiment? How will the hit of an ivory ferrule be in regards to an aegis ferrule? Also, I use a sniper tips on all my cues. I really only play one pocket and straight pool. Would one of those red pads be recommended for this tip/game combination.
Thanks for any advice. I'm sure Dick will be able to answer all these questions when I give him a ring, but would just like to hear some other thoughts.
Sorry if these are dumb questions, but I'm not a cue maker.
