I have witnessed the problems with the Cyclops cue ball up close for six days now. The players are not imagining what they are complaining about. I have to agree that the Cyclop cue ball is a bit off balance and has curved on its path a few times in ways not attributable to either English or masse. It's easy to avoid slow rolling the cue ball in position play, and most players have tried to make this adjustment, but it is far more difficult to pass up on some of the touch safeties typically required in the course of play.
It's a shame because many, myself included, think the Cyclop balls play well and that the cue ball is the only problem. To be fair, there haven't been many skids this week, no more than one would expect of Centennial or Super Aramith.
Thanks to Cyclop for their sponsorship.
