Where did this expression come from? Isn't it a term used only in 9-ball when someone is attempting to make the 9 out of rotation? And isn't it a term referring not to money but to the 9-ball itself? I grew up thinking it was an abbreviation of the term " cheeseburger" as the 9 itself looks somewhat like a cheeseburger. Can someone help sort this out?
