Chezka Beat Mills

I only recall her winning one when she was able to upset Earl. If there were others, more power to her. With how I see CC play, she should do more. She's already taken down some notable players, but not enough to say she's the best. I'll wait and see.

She beat Rempe once, she won Providence once-I think she has won 6.

One of things that struck me during her match against Biado was that at 1030 pm, while most kids her age were already in bed or getting ready for bed, she was gearing to play a man ranked 10th under Fargo's world player list (ranked 11th under the WPA list). If the match with Biado had been closer, the end time for the match would've been edging towards midnight or past midnight. I think it was around 1130 pm eastern when Biado won easily, 11-2.

Centeno will have it tough in any large men's tournament she plays, not only because she is female, but also because she is still a kid. Many don't realize that as a teenager, her sleep needs are closer to a child's than to an adult. Biologically speaking, because her brain is still developing and has not yet matured to run as efficiently as a fully developed adult brain, she will have a much tougher time focusing and strategizing playing in the late hours of the night. This is one reason why sleep deprivation affects kids much more drastically than adults.

If put in the loser's side, the later it gets in the day, the harder her matches will be, on many levels. As she advances in the losers brackets, she will eventually have to play the loser of the winner's side (like Biado) but much later in the day--in this case, right when her brain is telling her she needs to go to sleep.

Contrast her performance against Yu Lung Chang, ranked 11th under Fargo and 10th under WPA, right behind and before Biado respectively in the different rankings.. She played Y.L. Chang much earlier in the day and won 8 games to his 11, after leading in the beginning 3-1. It's no surprise that she didn't do as well playing against Biado at 1030 pm. At that time of night, there is little chance that a 17 year old will have as much focus and mental energy as a 32 year old man. Not only is she playing a higher ranked player, she has biology working against her.

Not trying to be rude. If I understand what you're saying.. If she were a 32 yr old woman instead, under all other circumstances being the same, she would have stood a much better chance? I her age may have some factor, but I think the skill difference/experience was the major factor.:grin-square:

Chezka is a superstar, she finished 7/8 in Elizabeth City, NC at The Great Dismal Swamp 9 Ball Classic. The field was loaded champions and and young upstarts.

That is strong. Beating the old master Lining and Ernesto

Excuse me, wasn't that the same Karen Corr who just finished second at Turning Stone. Just a little 128 man field full of top players. As far as I'm concerned that is THE performance of the year so far and only gives proof to my claim that the elite women can play with the men. IMO there are a dozen Asian women who are slight favorites over Karen, Chezka included.

I was rooting for her to get past Biado (I like to root for the underdog), but I think it was just too much of a difference for her to make up. I wonder who backed her entry into the US Open.

I would have to say she backed her self, She just won $3,000 a week or so ago, If she was smart she would stay on her own and not get involved with the Filipino promoters, They simply take to much,

Being married to a Filipino, and having a home there myself, I have a soft spot for Filipinos , She is un real, Lets see how she is doing in a couple years, My guess is she is going to be devastating,,,, No fear in her at all,,,

Promoters or backers ?
The players gets the good end of the stick in those arrangements.
I know two who backed Gomez and Geronimo here.
They were basically giving the two money.
