I'm confussed....The 2 could've stay or moved - up to jimmy...and then it would've been ball in hand either ways as the cue ball came to rest where the original location of the 2 ball was..ugh let's drop it already...I have vasoline in my eyes because of allergies and the screen is blury sorry for typoes..

Like I
said before Just delete the thread and move on..

No, It would not be ball in hand. The cue ball clearly did NOT come to rest where the 2 ball was. IF it did cross the path it would have been a graze on the edge.

Doesn't even matter. This thread is not about whether the call was right, wrong or partially right. It was about a players behavior when the call doesn't go his way.

get your story strait little truck.

was never walking up and down the rail.OH LAST MONTH YOUR SON HAD TO COME TELL EVERYONE HOW YOU WOULD NOT STOP CRYING ABOUT HIM PUTTING YOU OUT OF THE TOURNEY.......

your job as td

It's real simple Jimmy, If you don't like the way I run a tournament, don't come.

I do the the best I can. Why didn't you ask about moving the two ball back? Because that's not what you were complaining about.
That's not what is in question. I already said, I could've reminded y'all to put the ball back.

I didn't. Didn't give you the right carry on like you did. If anything you should have verified that the 2 ball should go back. I would have agreed.

Let it rest Jimmy. You did walk the rail. You started by table number one and worked your way to the center bar.

FYI - Jr was the one crying because I checked his rack after 3 nine balls tracked right in the corner pocket.

Quit crying it's really getting ugly.

It is obvious to me the reason that this chicken sh!t thread was started in the first place. The TD and his decision was rendered irrellevent by the players after he made a ruling and he didn't like it one bit.

No. You're wrong as usual, but I see you still like to stir up trouble.

check out the file here...pretty appropriate stuff if you ask me...

Now thats funny, should send it to Mark Cuban owner of the Mavs,

Bad call, right call, half call, ect... a call by the final authority ie. TD is final

If a TD continues to make errors then that person will in time not be asked to be a TD or the players will stop going to those events. As far as this and the related threads go, I think this is a great forum to flesh out differing opions and like "A- holes" everyone has one.

If I saw correctly the out come of the match ended in Jimmys favor so let bygones be bygones and let pool playing begin

Just my "A- hole" opinon

always a judgment call

Anytime the TD is called over after the fact it is a judgment call. He should ask what the shot was and look at the current position of balls. Then unless both players agree that the cue ball is resting where the moved ball was, at least partially, the TD has to make a judgment call. Nobody gets judgment calls right all the time, just the way it is.

The opposing player should have had the option of restoring the two ball to it's original position. However player B couldn't have things both ways, restore the two ball and get ball in hand so arguing for what had already been decided he wasn't entitled to prevented him getting what he was entitled to.

Now we come to a clear-cut call. I have been Tournament Director at pool tournaments. I have been Range Officer at shooting matches. I have been Flagman at a circle track. When I was the person making the calls they were not argued at any event. A person got one warning to settle down and then they were DQ'ed if they continued.

This was a minor incident at a small tournament. Similar things happen at events large and small. Some of the calls go your way, some don't. It is way past time to be glad that somebody takes on the thankless job of Tournament Director and move on. Had I been TD player B would have been warned. If he didn't settle down he would have been DQ'ed.

****Special Thanks to my buddy Smorgass Bored for the title of this thread****

I am the Tournament Director at my $50 monthly 9Ball event. 2 players are playing to see who gets in the money. It's cue ball fouls only.

Player A has the cue ball very close to the 2 ball. When he shoots the 1 in, he knocks the 2 ball with his cue. The cueball travels 2 rails and is close to crossing the path of the 2, but is onconclusive whether is crosses the path or not based on what the players said.(they did not have me watch the shot). I called no foul. Player B does not agree with call and started a crying routine up and down the rail. Player A, whom was about to shoot, stops and say's, "if it's that important to you take it". Players B says ok and takes ball in hand and runs out. That ties the match 5-5 in a race to 7.

Chicken chit move or not?

The "chicken" chit move was a "fowl"! You know about "fowls" don't yea Ray?!? (You made the right call) -- I also agree that if you heard the concession then you should have put The Truck Air Brakes On and put a stop to that. The real problem that night was Player B not buying you chicken dinner ---> a fowl foul!

This is a better one...

OK OK...I know I posted one earlier, but this is in the actual Military format, and I've used this with some of my soldiers to show them how stupid they were being about somethings. It's pretty funny...make sure you read the entire thing.

BTW, the TD, once he makes his ruling, has the final say. When you agree to play in a tournament, you are subject to the rulings of the officials chosen to run that particular tournament. If you have a question about the rules, you should bring them up in the player meeting beforehand. If you don't, and encounter such a situation, the deciding factor is the TD. To rant and rave about it is just...well....whining.
