China Open Reporting

I am back. Jim Fury says get back online with the updates so here I am!

The Wavemaker is on the TV table and she has drawn first blood: It's Sarah Rousey vs. Han Yu 2:0 (Sarah's nickname is the HeartBreaker - I just call her the Wavemaker for her brave comments on the Women's World 10 Ball Championships.)

Han misses the 7 and Sarah is back at the table with a slightly tricky seven that hangs up in the corner. Han still has a little work here to get good shape on the 8 to get to the 9. She comes down table and will need to go three rails for shape which she nails.

2:1 Sarah.

Opponent misses an easy 7, but Sarah also misses the easy shot. 2-1 Sarah

Both look a bit uncomfortable

Jason Klatt is off to a good start at 2:0 He is looking fairly solid. Le He Wen, one of China's top players who got spanked badly by Jeff DeLuna earlier is now out after missing an easy 9 Ball at hill:hill.

Oscar Dominguez is on his last lifeline with his opponent on the hill - I don't know what Oscar's score is.

Vivian Villareal and Gerda Hofstatter are playing now and it's 1:1

Marlon Manalo is playing and the score there is also 1:1.

Karl Boyes won his match 11:10.

Sarah is up 3:1

Jason Klatt up 2:1 and breaking.
Vivian up 2:1 against Gerda.

Tamara Rademakers is down 0:3

Sarah looks really good on TV - The Wavemaker rocks!

Oscar Domingues is relegated to being a cheerleader for his dad who is undefeated so far. It's kind of a cool story to see these two able to travel the world and compete together.

I need a drink - of something stronger than Gatorade.

Han Yu is down on the 8 and goes to the easy 9 which she makes to get to 3:2.

Vivian is breaking at 3:1

Tamara is having a realy hard time being down 0:5

OK, JB, I will update Sarahs match.

Things have turned a bit, Han Yu is now up 4-3 after a weak safety attempt from Sarah.

It looks like very forgiving pockets, would be interesting to see a close up pic of two balls in the jaws to see how big they are

Sarah misses the 2ball, but the run out is a bit tricky for Han Yu. 7 and 8 on opposite long rails, and the 8 close to th center pocket, but has to be made in the corner.

She ends up short, but cuts it nicely in, and its Sarah 3 Han Yu 5

Yu is up 5:3 over Sarah. Seems like Yu has settled down and Sarah is still feeling nervous.

Sarah to break - makes 2 balls and has a shot on the 2. Had to force postion on the 3 and came up about the best she could when cinching the 2. Long shot to the frozen 3 that she makes but was unable to hold the cueball for the 4. Now playing safe by thinning the 4 she executes it almost perfectly. Yu has to kick between the 6 and 9 and spin off the back rail - which she does but leaves Sarah a better shot on the 4.

Sarah drills it in and goes up and down the table for shape on the five. Comes a touch high on the six and because of it she comes up short on the 8 - slices that in like it was a hanger and brings the cueball around four rails for shape on the nine. Shooting off the rail it's not a hanger and she rolls it in perfectly. 4:5 Yu.

Sarah breaks, alternate breaks here. She makes two balls on the break, should run out here. Messes up position, and has to make a safe on the 4.

Han Yu kicks, but leave a shot. Sarah playes the 6 slightly too thick and gets bad position to 8. However she cuts it in with a great recovery shot - Sarah 4 Han Yu 5

Scores:

VV is up 5:2 over Gerda

Tamara is now a spectator after losing 9:1

Jason is looking at half a pocket on the one while sitting at 4:3 up.

Manalo is down 3:4.

Jason drills the one and is in line with an open table. Gets a little funny on the six and has to avoid the eight for position on the seven - 50 yard line on the eight. Jason is going to have put a stroke on it here. He nails it to kill the cueball off the rail and get in line for an easy nine. Solid pool right there to go up 5:3. The guy that had to fight for a spot might be the dark horse here.

Jeff Deluna is about to make it 7:1 - he does look like an angry bull the way he attacks the bals.

Mika is now down 4:5 and his opponent is running out to make it 4:6.

The tournament is alternate breaks by the way.

Stroking Fury cues makes you grow more hair if you are a guy and enlarges your breasts if you are a woman. :-)

Where can a guy get one of those hair-growing cues?

BTW, thanks for the reporting. Keep it up. If anyone finds out that you can watch this live, please post in this thread.

Thanks,
JoeyA

Manalo is at 4:4
Gerda has brought it to 3:5
Jason is looking at an frozen 7 ball to go up 6:3. Drills the nine.

I dont know if you should bow out JB, they just went to commercial and doesnt look like they are coming back. Its news now..

Joey, just look at posts #39 and 40 of this thread. You will find what you are looking for.

Joey, it's been posted a couple times how to watch it. My Fury made my hair grow a lot but it was all between my toes :-)

Sarah is hanging with Yu at 5:6

Manalo is down 4:5

Gerda is breaking at 3:6 down.

Jason is facing an open 2 ball at 6:3 up - tough to get shape on the 3 ball though. No easy way no matter what. Looks like he is trying to draw it from an off angle and he misses it but gets a good roll and hooks his opponent.
