That confident erect strut began when she was still one or two games back but she was feeling it. Miss Kim has the best posture in Women's pool or most anywhere else.

She was teaching Dawn Hopkins a posture exercise at Tunica last year and like all times when she speaks, people just start gravitating into ear shot. There is no one else on earth who could entertain me while teaching posture! I could listen to that girl forever on anything she wants to speak about..
 
Shane played well in this tough field. Alternating break further equalizes the matches. I think the USA guys had a good showing overall. This is a great tourney.

I'm glad I went to bed after work. My head would have exploded if I stayed up and couldn't watch Shane's match while a streaming table was sitting idle.

By the way, the monkey thing is funny. Pool is an evil master.

They are all monsters, the format isn't in favor of anyone. In fact this format is favor more solid and experience player, you can't catch a good roll and runaway from it, you have to fight for it from be beginning till the end.
If anyone did watch the match Shane vs Wu, we can see clearly that he's not feeling confortable, that he's not showing a confidence and intimidating image like he is normally, but he put up a good fight and fortunately Wu also played poorly, he won that match well-deserved.
Absolutely no shame for Shane finished 5th in this field considering his performances in the international soil until now, be optimistic dude, isn't it one of his best performance in a tourney outside the U.S ?
Be realistic also, Shane is no.1 in the U.S but there are more than 10 in the world that at least be 50-50 against him. So just cheers for him and hope that he will do better in the W9C in Doha.
Way to go Shane, go go. :thumbup:

It sounds like the races should of been to 13. In the Sigel/Rempe/Mizerak days its always been race to 11, but since the skill level of the field is MUCH deeper than years gone by, Thirteen seems to be a good number.

Any info been distributed on the semi / finals match times? Gotta set my alarm clock. :grin:
 
:wink: Who is this Jeffrey Ignacio? How old is he and what tier does he currently belong to in the Philippine pool hierarchy?

I looked at his progress in this competition and he beat guys like Kiamco, John Morra (who btw, eliminated Ko Pin Yi) and now has beaten the great Mika Immonen by a score of 11 to 6 after trailing 2-5 earlier on an alternate break format!!! That means he won 9 straight games to Mika's 1. Now that is strong.

• SVB made 94 balls to Wu's 61
• SVB had 2 misses to Wu's 6 (plus they both missed once and slopped in another ball)
• SVB had 2 fouls (one on the break and one on a kick) to Wu's 1 (on the break)
• SVB had 3 B&R's to Wu's 2

Using the magic rack (or something similar), a ball was made on the break every time.

Well we will see how he does theirs nothing to suggest it will be any different result ,, just about every turny he plays state side he's a favorite not the case on the world stage .get Shane out of his comfort zone and he is no where near the same player ,,

Jeffrey is the real deal. He is a well known money player in the PI, playing even against the top players! He is now considered Tier One there, along with Dennis, Francisco, Lee Vann and Alex. Those are the elite Filipino players.

Huge win for Shane, beating one of the world's best players. Top eight in this field is no mean feat. Not sure there are too many players there who want to gamble with Shane playing Winner Breaks Ten Ball. Maybe Ko Pin Yi and Dennis? I would almost guarantee Shane is getting action. When you get so many of the world's top player together, they WILL gamble! :rolleyes:

Thanks for the info, Jay. So is Carlo Biado still in tier 1? You did not include his name in your reply so I am just curious.

Now I remember hearing Jeff Ignacio's name in the interview with Efren before his TAR challenge match with SVB. Efren was asked if there are any Filipino players who have not been to the USA but are considered monsters and Jeff's name came up. If he beats Biado in the semi-finals then we have a new pool star. I hope he gets a visa to come to the USA soon.
