I'm not looney I just see whats going on..

call out one of the big boys in the room get a spot and lose..

allows you to beg a bigger spot from the rest..

by the end of the weekend he'll come out ahead..

it's the oldest trick in the book..

I thought you guys were pool players??

Just can't leave it alone can you?

CB is way cool and will do just fine.

Are they?

from what I can tell ... he's a match maker

he's not a player...

all I hear is heart.... he doesn't have heart.. heart plays even

Sorry you didn't get the memo but... Chris Bartram is NOTHING BUT HEART.

He doesn't have to play these people. He could simply find the easy action and clean up. He chooses to play a fair game with the best in the world. He will take a spot.. he will give up a spot. He just wants a game and wants it to be fair. Not out looking for a lock.

You say "heart plays even", well, if you need a spot and don't take it, stupid plays even. If Busty didn't think he could win with that spot, he wouldn't have given it up.

Perhaps we can find out how much heart you have???? Would you like to step in the box even with Bartram???

Some people just love to hate I guess.

i am sure chris lost 9 dimes so he can win 30 dimes playing all the other people who are jumping up to play him some since he is playing so bad....really didnt make any sense to me either....but i am sure chris will do well.....

I personally don't feel the need to defend Chris, as he is fully capable and does a damn good job of defending himself, but, I will however, thank him once again for providing some of the best action to sweat. Long before the DCC even started Chris came on these forums and asked to set-up some action for DCC and got very little response, so, don't for a minute take a cheap shot at the guy for stepping up and playing a world champion like Bustamante getting a little weight, they both had to agree to the terms and both thought they had a chance to win, that's gambling - not hustling or stealing.

Pay no attention to softshot. He is a league player from St. Peter Minnesota who barely wins 50% of his matches in a weak league.

Well over a year ago he and Rossaroni were supposed to play a AZ challenge match but softshot managed to back out with excuse after excuse. Just another big mouth nit.

Not a player?

And as far as Chris "not being a player"? If my memory serves me correct, he is the only person to defeat Mika in the last 2 U.S. Opens and Mika is at the absolute top of his game right now...

Busta to me: You wanna play some?

Me: Na ... na...not really but I will play ya even....Just in case I forget here is my wallet. Just got paid so it's full. Go ahead and sign my name when you use those credit cards though or it probably won't go through. ok... here is the keys to my BMW. 4th gear sticks a bit, watch that. Here is the keys to my house. Here's the address. Now don't tell anyone please but my wife likes to be kissed on the small of her neck... drives her wild. OK. That's about it.... any questions? OK lets play and hey... GL!

O Busta...BTW... when you speak of me in the future... you know, when you talk about me, tell everyone I got a ton of heart ..will ya?

Geeez soft?

I almost forgot about this.:banghead: Well, the state tournaments are coming up soon, so maybe we can meet up there...........................................I think I know a little better though.

11-9 2nd Set

He could've one the second set and he wasn't even playin as good as he can. The momentum would have been totally different. I did admire how at the conclusion of each set, he simply walked up and fliped the coin, no hands flopin, no cue chuckin, no ranting, just play. I don't remember ever hearing of any one player who was in his position, just one tier below world class basically, gambling with the top players, NEVER! You hear stories of Parica and Efren offering entire fields the 8 back in the day and nobody budged. CB seems to have decided that he wants to live his life as a big time gambler, not just talk about it, but actually do it, why hate on the guy for doing what he set out to do. He knows what he is doing and where he stands in regards to every other player that is just below that superfreak level of play, they know too. Don't think for one minute that guys like Chris haven't put in the same amount of effort into pool, they just might not have the same God given talent as only about a half dozen people in the world have right now. It seems that Chris might not be understood, but he should not be unappreciated, who knows when the next guy with his ambition might come along.

This pretty much says all we need to know. Some crappy league player talking smack about CB playing one of the best players on the planet and dare asking for a spot. Softshot is the guy everyone knows, because every league has a few of these guys,,, average player who thinks he is better than he is and knows more than everyone else. I was at DCC watching this match, just got home Monday night. Where was softsoft at?? yeah, that is what I thought !!! No where to be seen !! Talk is cheap my friend.

I really think it is great these guys have these challenge matchs. Also Tar events have done nothing but good for this sport.Chris and all the other top pro,s really deserve more then what they get.I couldn,t imagine how tough it would be to play guys at that level and try to make a living at it.
I think you reach a certain level and you play peolple at the
same level there are no Guarantees.

Players that make a living at pool have nothing but my
respect ,why they may be doing something that they truely
love i bet the road wasn,t easy to get to where they are now.

Great post! FWIW, Chris has had a "curse" on me the entire time I have been playing him. No matter how good I am playing at the time when I play him I play the 7 ball worse. IMO, the Pinoys have the same "curse" on him.... I have yet to see him play his true speed against one of them. The Tuesday before the DCC we played and it was the best I have ever seen him play. I got a lot of chair time and got up to kick or jump every once in a while. It was the biggest horsef***ing I have ever taken! If he plays like that, or even close to that, Busty is going down with that spot... He wasn't mad at his money, he knows that he can win that game and I can't blame him for getting up there....
