I was at Chris's shop last night, and got to see my conversion in the works.....a few more passes, and it will be ready for some paint...I decided on a white with blue spec wrap....I can't wait till this cue is finished.....what do you guys think???

That cue is going to look SICK when it's done!! I've been in contact with Chris recently about having a cue made. He's been great in answering all my questions, despite being super busy preparing for Valley Forge. His work seems to be top-notch. I know his customer service definitely is!!:)
 
This cue is really coming together nice. I will post some pics when I get some clear on it. Chris.

white with blue spec linen......what do you guys think of a 3/4 inch cocobolo joint with 1/4 inch black phenolic ring above and below, would that be to much cocobolo, or should I just have a black phenolic joint installed with a couple of old school thick nickel silver rings?

I would go old school as I really don't care for the look of a wood joint. They are also hard to sell if you decided to get rid of it down the road. JMO
 
The ebony blank with the bushka rings looks like an incredible piece of work. I wonder who the lucky owner of that cue will be...I can't wait to see the finished work.

Go with the sleeved stainless steel collar with the 3/8x10 pin and the old school thick nickel silver silver rings. That way you will have the old school look, but the hit of a wood to wood joint.

I saw the cue last night on the board and the joint just didnt sit right and I was just thinking Ivory sleeve!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That would be a good idea.
Or possibly a solid ivory joint like this Schick...
But the large 3/8 pin is a must.

i would go ivory for the joint,and if you can swing it get the big 1" slab.if not you could always get a smaller ivory collar.i think the 1" piece would match the butt better as a few have said.
 
A new update on the Davis conversion.....It shouldn't be long now..:D

Btw Thanks for all the advice on the joint material....I went with sleeved elforyn, and a SS radial pin..
