chuck starkey wenge and curly wood pin cue

Chuck Starkey Cues

I've heard good things about these cues and Chuck Starkey.
I like the wood pin design and if I was buying cues right now I would order one from Chuck.

Good luck, very nice cue

How is it going Mr Starkey. Keep me in mind please if you make a cue that is 19.4 or heavier and a full 13 mm on the shaft. Put my name on it, I will take it!:)

Here's the review copied from the other thread.

"I just wanted to post my impressions of my new Chuck Starkey cue (here: http://forums.azbilliards.com/showth...hlight=starkey ). Well, to begin, I need to say a few things about Chuck himself. I have never, and I mean never, done business with anyone like him. This is how our transaction went: I call Chuck and tell him I'm interested in this cue. I tell him I think he's on to something with the wooden pin and that I love the hit of a three cushioned billiard cue. He says something to the effect that that is exactly what he's trying to accomplish- a three cushion and pocket billiard hybrid cue. We've been speaking now for about two and a half minutes and then he says: " I'll have the cue shipped out in just a bit, pay me when you can...if you like it." Now, I own several businesses, and I can't imagine giving my service to anyone and expecting them to pay on the honor system. But Chuck did just that to a perfect stranger. Then it gets better. I call Chuck to tell him I'd paypalled the money for the cue, and wanted to know if everything went well on his side getting the funds. With complete nonchalance he says: "Oh, I haven't checked that in a while and I'm not worried about it." Cracks me up. But skimming through a few posts of his I read Chuck stating something to the effect that he just likes to treat people the way he would like to be treated. The golden rule, and Chuck doesn't just say it he lives it. You could not ask for a better guy to do business with. If you have any interest in his cues-order one-you'll be treated to the best, most old fashioned, hand shake seals the deal, customer experience ever.
Now, let's get to the cue. All I can say is WOW. The playability. This cue is an extension of your arm. It is so perfectly balanced that it disappears when you stroke. It also pushes the cue ball around effortlessly. There is no banging away with this cue, it's all point and shoot. I've shot with Predator and Ob-1 shafts (and a ton of other production cues) and I think this cue deflects less. On a nine foot diamond with pro cut pockets that has no mercy for the slightest error I was dropping the long hard cuts with ease that were killing me just last week. Is it me or the cue?
Fit and finish. This cue is super unique. The butt is four pieces of wood, two of curly maple and two of wenge, that are cut at an angle and then pinned together. The points where they meet are rounded and fit perfectly together. The joint and butt cap are made from elk horn and are polished to a glass finish. The shaft is honey colored and sourced from an old Brunswick one piece- dead straight. And let's not forget about the HUGE wooden pin. Chuck say's that these are built to last a lifetime-and I believe him- it would take a hammer to knock it off. The entire cue is made with real old world craftsmanship. It reminds of the molding work you see on the interior of Victorian era mansions. The old saying- they just don't make 'um like that anymore- comes to mind.
Overall, I couldn't be happier with the cue or the cue maker. I have finally, after a very long quest, found the perfect cue for my game. "
