Chuck and I had an exchange which resulted in a misunderstanding. He is a class act and responded with an act of kindness. He is one of the good ones and the industry could use more Like Chuck.

Now to the top of the list

It sounds like to me we all need a Starkey cue. Customer service means everything to me personally, and the next cue I buy will be a Starkey. It may be direct from Chuck or from another AZ'er who has offered me one that he enjoys but doesn't see as much play as he would like. Not totally sure what occurred, but I can tell Chuck went over and beyond what anybody could ever expect to please a potential customer.

Great person and most of his cue use no weight bolt also.My kinda guy

My sincere apologies to The Hustler.

Chuck made a Thread in the ask the Cue Maker Forum, re a person who offered him $450 for Titlist Conversion, if Chuck would also make an extra shaft for it.

Essentially for $350. I know a few of us, I do for sure, get a little defensive when someone tries to Low Ball a Cue Maker or a Seller for something totally ridiculous.

By the second page, it looked as tho Hustler was the one that made the offer, when Chuck worked out the difference by giving Hustler a free cue.

Then Hustler made a thread in the main, mentioning their difference. It was a very slight misunderstanding and had nothing to do with the original offer by another member.

Hustler even offered to pay Chuck for materials, shipping etc, but Chuck wouldn't have anything to do with it.

So, Chuck has displayed his excellent Customer Service once again, I made an error and judged someone before I found out, and Hustler is an honest chap with a decent amount of integrity.

Sorry bout that one Buddy. I know you will enjoy your new cue. I hope that you picked one with a wood pin. I had a custom sneaky with a wood pin. It played absolutely wonderful, until the entire cue warped like a banana. Still wondering how that happened.

Myself, I still would like to know where I can get a Titlist conversion for $350. I am good for at least ten.

As a side, Chuck also had several Sneaky Pete jigs custom made. He was nice enuff to offer me the use of one to try out, no money would exchange hands until I agreed to purchase it. This, coming all the way from the USA to Canada. The only thing that I had to do is pay return shipping if I didn't want it.

So, just another example, where I also experienced Chucks good nature. Plus many helpful cue building tips.

I would like to add that Chuck Starkey is a stand up guy. His return policy is solid on all his cues. Buy it and test hit it, and if you're not happy, then return it and he will refund 100% of you're money as long as there is no damage to the cue.

Look in the Dictionary under "Customer Service".
You'll find an 8x10 picture of Chuck Starkey (no words necessary).

Any cuemaker who tells you to play a few racks and if you don't like the cue to just send it back for 100% refund must be a pretty good guy IMO.

I've talked to Chuck a few times and he's always seemed well above a lot of the others.

I'll eventually get one of his cues I'm sure.

I'd also like to add to the list that finds Mr. Starkey to be one of the few great guys in the cuemaker business. A+

Chuck is so easy to deal with. does what he says, and on time quickly. First rate cue maker !!

My new cue has arrived and I can't wait to play with it. The work is very clean, the balance, the taper, all very impressive and not to mention the Birdseye used is sick! Stay tuned, more to come.

Pics incoming!

Check out the Birdseye in the shafts too!
