Classiest Player

Here's one showing two people who have been mentioned in this thread. Doubt either one will win the "Classiest" contest.

Excellent example of the opposite of class!! Besides a lack of class, it looks as if they lack sportsmanship also.

King James did set a standard, Crane did too among his peers, Larry Liscotti dressed to the tens and god I loved him, but someone who is still at it, and sticks out, is the one and only, Mike Massey. When you talk about giving back, he and Efren are in their own class. The Deacon, King James, Tennessee Tarzan and the Magician are all worth 50% each.
Dick Lane, sometimes he's on another planet (his game or his mind), but a humble good man.

i heard parica biatch slapped strickland after this in the green room.........lol
just kidding ............i wish.earl should not even be mentioned in this post.
maybe in the unclassiest pool player..............maybe.

May I nominate one more player with CLASS?

I would be remiss if I didn't mention John Brumback as a living player who shows class in every way. John lives near Cincinnati and may not be known as widely as some mentioned in this thread, but he is a world-class bank pool player (coming in second at the DCC two years in a row [2004 & 2005]). I've never known him to show anything but sportsmanship and class at tournaments and in money games. I'm proud to be an old friend of his. Here's a shot of him at the last DCC (photo by Ed Fields).

I played Tony Crosby at Snookers and lost a hill-hill match...He talked about the match later and was a great guy. I have talked to him at a couple of events and is always great to talk with winning or losing...

Living - I agree with Robles, Allison, Hopkins, Souqet, Holmann, Efren, Bustamante, and Rempe. It would be quite a chore to separate one of those players as "the" classiest.

Deceased - Crane by a landslide. He looked like he was born in a tux, and he acted like it. I'd like to give honorable mention to the late Jack Colavita.

Deceased - Jackie Gleason (who can forget his version of the Fat Man, and he was one Hell of a player with a pretty good stroke in reality)

Living - Champagne Ed Kelly

Ralf Souquet...

Not a lot of guys can put up with Earl--even lesser guys can stand Earl and beat Earl.:D

I'll second that Bill--I've spent some time with John working on my game and he is definitely a classy guy.

OMG! Look at Earl's fingers, he's got gobs of tape all over them! That is just hilarious, I wonder what the purpose of all that tape is. It's almost as funny as that big hockey glove he wears sometimes.

does this fellow count?

what about Torbjorn Blomdahl? I know he doesn't play professional pool, but he's a class act, for sure.

Must concur. Mike is one guy in the pool world who has every excuse not to be what he is. His bood should be titled, "To Hell and Back", It is impossible to know him and not love him.

Steve Cook has been mentioned a number of times, here he is in his prime.

LOL people dressed so funny back then. And to think that about 20 or 30 years from now, people are gonna say that this generation dressed really funny.

About Steve Cook, I have a one pocket match where he plays a no-name guy. Steve gets some horrible bad rolls, and he doesn't complain at all. He keeps his composure. I was impressed with his demeanor.
