Hi Guys,

Recently moved to the Cleveland / Akron, Ohio area. Having trouble finding decent places to play where there's a little action. Any suggestions on good places to play? 9 foot Diamonds or Gold Crowns would be nice.

Thanks,

Paul

River City Billiards...Fairview Park very close to Hopkins Airport area. 9 Foot Diamonds.

Akron/Canton

Fidllesticks is in Canton Ohio, about 10min SW of Akron near Bellden Village Mall, theres also a Fox & Hounds pool hall right behind the mall a few minutes from Fiddle Sticks.

Fox and Hounds has 2 9' Diamonds and 10' foot Diamonds, Fiddle Sticks is a real pool hall, 5 9" Diamonds, a 5 8'' and a 6 BB

45min ride from downtown Cleveland

Chris Szuter's place in Canton called Fiddlestix is the best place for pool in NE Ohio. Great quality of players every Saturday at 7 for the weekly tournament and usually a great turnout of 28 to 40 players as well. Lots of action during and after the tourny too. You can usually get some $50 short set action pretty easily and there was some $100 action last night with alot of woofing to put up a K or 2. The saturday tournament is played on Valley BB's. The game is 8ball race to 2 except the first saturday of the month is 9ball race to 4 and they recently started a weekly 9ball on the big tables on tuesdays. Great atmosphere, great people and very reasonable drink prices considering the area.

Crown

There is/was Crown Billiards in Akron on Manchester rd. Black Gold Crowns and Monday night 9 ball tournament. Double check on this I have not been there in awhile.

There used to be a lot of good halls in that area. I moved from there in 95 to NC.

pool players do not frequent this establishment(The Fox & Hound) at all. it is strictly for the college aged crowd and bangers only. the only action in this place would be a 15 inning bang fest for drinks between a couple of snot nosed kids puffing their chests out to impress their friends.

Fox & Hounds is a good place to get a work out in.., not for action.

Akron is dead!

Thanks guys! You're awesome. I should have just checked here first. Would have saved a lot of gas and wasted time at some pretty lame places.

Where to Play

Fiddlestix's, beautiful room, good people, good action if you're interested

Crown Billiards is owned by a regular from the Starcher's days as far as I know, and a lot of the regulars still hang there. Tommy D.

Super Maryo Brothers (formerly Chandleys and Big Daddy's) in North Ridgeville, Continous Play in Parma, and River City Billiards in Fairview are all nice rooms, and you can get played in any of them.

Mike Chandley actually lives down here in NC now. Never met him (as far as I know) when I lived up there, but we knew a lot of the same players. I used to work at Rack n Roll in Mentor, Ohio back in the early 90's when Dello owned it. That was when Corey, Troy Frank and JR Gay lived in the area.

No action there... or bar. I played $10/game one pocket on that tight table and the whole room was watching!

Fox And Hound

What kind of a workout? I wouldn't object to a couple of college coeds. :)

Been there on a Friday night in June. The place was loaded with beautiful and well dressed woman. They made a older man feel comfortable being in thier presence. My friend and I had a very good evening.

I am not too familiar with the east side rooms, but all of that was a little bit before my time. I used to work at River City, but I didn't start playing until the early 2000's.

If you looking for some easy money HIt up Columbus about 2 hours SW of you. Ask for a guy named Chris Bartrum. Dude loves to bet it up and he can't play a lick
