Cleveland has two Jillians. One is in the flats across the river, ask anyone in Cleveland and they can get u there. Fiddlestix is in Akron thats Chris Z's room. There used to be a room named Diamonds where Leil(JR) Gay was the house pro, not sure if it's still around.

Hey Scott, If you want I might have time to play you some at our place in Cuyahoga falls, which is about 30 to 40 minutes from Cleveland. Corey and I usually practice at my work when I get done working at 5:00. We have a 9-foot Diamond there with IPT specs. Aaron

I don't know about Cleveland, but if you are ever in the Columbus, Ohio area I would be interested in booking you for a couple of hours for a lesson. I would travel up to Cleveland this week for a lesson, but I my work and family commitments put this out of the question.

There is a poolhall called Club 9 in Mentor. It is east of Cleveland. On Wednesdays and Thursdays They have 9 Ball and 8 Ball tournaments. I do not remember which day for which game. The Viking nine ball tour has a stop there. I am sure someone will play you.

I have played in Northfield billiards half a dozen times myself. During the day I found the oldler guys in there very nice and helpfull. At night was a much different crowd but still ok.Its not in the best area but I never had any problems. The only name I can think of right now as far as players was Scooter who I had seen that March at VF and knew to stay away from as far as level of player I couldn't touch without a spot. I wish I could remember more of the names but the last time I was there was I think to years ago. Hope that helps.

There is Northfield Billiards on Route 8. Take Aurora Rd (Macedonia exit) east of I 271 to route 8, go north about 2 miles. On the right.

There is Winners Billiards, on top of Holiday Inn out at the Airport. Just south off of I77. Leil Gay used to be House Pro and play out of there.

There is another billiard room in Brooklyn, can't remember the name. Ralph Carnes was house pro there if he is still playing.

River City Billiards in Loraine, west side of Cleveland past the airport, Leil Gay has a high run of 326 in straight pool there. On Loraine Blvd.

As the the other Gentleman stated, There is two Jillian's. One in the flats, the other off Cedar Road.

There is a pool room in Bainbridge, called Chagrin Valley Billiards, may not be open, but was in 1998. Had some good action there.

There is a pool room named Sharkey's, at the corner of S.Green rd and Cedar Rd.. Just about halfway between I-271 North and downtown Cleveland.

Rack and Roll Billiards on Mentor Ave. in Mentor, North East side of Cleveland. Out I-80. A guy named Tommy Harwood used to play out of there. Pretty good player. I know he ran 17 on a billiard table!

Of course, Starchers, Now Action Billiards, in Akron. Right off Route 8. South side of Akron. If you're looking for action, this is probably the place to find it.

I think Diamonds , outside of Akron is now closed.

There is another pool room in Talmadge, I thought it was also called Action Billiards, guy named Doc owns it. They have a lot of action that carries over fom the old Starchers. Lot of good players in there. If you need action, it doesn't take long for them to show. All gold crowns. It is off Route 8, just after Cuyahoga Falls on Talmadge Avenue, west. If you get to the circle, you went about 1/2 to 3/4 miles too far.

There is several other pool rooms around the area, but I just don't think they are worth mentioning because of the action factor. Not because they are not good rooms.

No pool rooms in Cleveland? I guess he just didn't look around.

Good Luck. Hope you do well. There is a lot of great players up there. Best I have seen in one area.

Oh, yeah, do't forget Blackies up in Sharon, PA. Only about a hour drive east on toll I-80.

> The last info I got about it was that both Doc's locations in Akron and Tallmadge were closed,as of late July. The Starcher family still has control over the Arlington Road place, which had been open since 1983 in that location, and was in the previous location for 15 before that. I also heard they were trying to sell it. Diamond Billiard Club on Manchester Road closed several years ago,but there is a new room right up the road called Gold Crown Billiards that has 8 9 foot GC IV's,including a double/triple shim, and a couple bar boxes. Fiddlestix is actually in Canton, but only 10 minutes away from Akron proper. I'm also pretty sure there is a Jillian's downtown. In case you go looking to hit some balls in the middle of the night, most of the larger bowling alleys are open 24/7,and almost always have tables, usually GC I's. Tommy D.

Hi Scott.

Fiddlestix in Akron is Chris Szuter's (spelling?) place I think. That would be a litle bit of a drive.

If you have a free afternoon visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It is really way cool. Kathy and I were there in April.

Northfield was sold and was bought by a bar owner in the same plaza but hasn't reopened it. The tables are to be moved to another unit adjacent to the bar.

Ralph Carnes doesn't play much anymore or work as a house pro anywhere that I'm aware of

Chagrin Valley Billiards closed many years ago. One of the owners moved the tables and reopened at another location called Northfield Billiards which is currently not open.

There is a pool room named Sharkey's, at the corner of S.Green rd and Cedar Rd.. Just about halfway between I-271 North and downtown Cleveland.

Not sure if Sharkeys is still there or not.

Rack and Roll Billiards closed a few years ago.

Action Billiards at the old Starchers location is closed. Dottie may open it up but I think the tables need some work if they do.

I think Diamonds , outside of Akron is now closed.

Yep, Diamonds has been closed and Nothfield bought all the Diamond tables that they had.

There is another pool room in Talmadge, I thought it was also called Action Billiards, guy named Doc owns it. They have a lot of action that carries over fom the old Starchers. There are a couple of good ones...Big Daddy's in North Ridgeville and Joe Toth just opened one up Continuous Play in Parma. Frank Zumo will open one in a month or so in Wickliffe.

Good Luck. Hope you do well. There is a lot of great players up there. Best I have seen in one area.

Oh, yeah, do't forget Blackies up in Sharon, PA. Only about a hour drive east on toll I-80.

I sure hope that more rooms open in Cleveland soon. We could use a real poolroom now that Northfield has closed but hopefully will reopen.
