I was at Mr.Cues on Monday nite and Cliff and Doug were playing an 8 ahead set for some "chedder". Does anyone know how they came out? They were dead even after about 2 hrs when I left.

Was Cliff spotting in the 8-ahead set?

8-ahead in one-pocket could take a very long time, depending on the spot. ;)

It was an 8 ahead set playing 10 ball. They were playing even

I'm inclined to go along with Ironman. I'd rather see Cliff doing what he does best, and that's one-pocket. Times must be tough if he has to find himself a game playing 10-ball. :D

What difference does it make what game it is if he thinks he has the best of it and a chance to make money? Not too many people knocking on Cliff's door to play one pocket.

That's because he has to spot too much to get a game in one-hole.

As far as 10-ball goes, I'm sure Cliff would rather be playing one-pocket, and when it comes to games of stake, I'm sure he'll take it any way he can get it, like most American pool warriors.

I think that would be the expected turnout. Cliff is way to good with the cueball to have Doug beat him!!!!!!

I would have agreed with you, JAM but all that shows is Cliff has a ton of heart. There is a reason he is the winner of the Louie Roberts award, this demonstrates it anew. When you out run the nuts you are suppose to win big.

Cliff won the set at around 7 am that morning. Doug didn't play very well, but Cliff did. Good seeing you around southpaw...

I have seen Cliff playing 9 ball more in the last few months for sure. Times must be tough! He can still play rotation pool with the best of them! I believe 10 ball is a good choice because safeties and kick shots come into play more! Even top players do not string alot of racks. It is almost is to his advantage. He moves so well!!
