cnc help

We are working on an intense video using Bob-Cad Mach- 3 and Align rite cnc this will cover drawing G- codes, using Mach tips and tricks using the lathe side of Mach programing in conjunction with shaft and butt turning
vacuum tables simple inlay techniques, separating inlays from your substrate with ease all kinds of short videos of actually work-in progress
also cutting v point via cnc, cutting veneers cnc ,this will also be very affordable

Looking very forward to seeing the end result of the software !!!

Do you have a working price figured out for us yet ???

i know there are some guys out there doing the monster 4th axis stuff like Manzino and some others,i just said him b/c i was looking at that monster cue in the gallery.no way are they using the $900 software with their CNC machines.they are doing stuff that requires serious software.

i am not saying that you can't do it,but maybe just that i couldnt' do it without some big time software.

Actually From my limited experience with my "LEGAL" software bobcad 20 and mach 3.... It's designed to support the 4th axis automatically so I personally don't forsee any problems or the need for anymore software to enable the machine to perform that operation....

All I know is that Bobcad converts the programming code to mach 3 language so the CNC can use it and Bobcad 20 has alot of bells and whistles !!!

If anyone thinks this statement is incorrect than by all means correct me, I am still in the learning stages with my CNC as well and I have had it over a year and a half !!!

Hi, Im Art, the Author of Mach3. Ive worked very hard to keep Mach3's price low enough for hobbiests and small companies such as Cue Makers. To see one give my work away so easily is disturbing. Two things to keep in mind. First, we usually hear about a copy given away, so many contact us for support and upgrades, or send us their xml files that we see duplications in the license code. When that occurs, we turn off that license for future upgrades, this means the original licensed owner then is turned off and has lost his/her license. He has to buy a new one to upgrade. Id love to do this here, ( whats your license name Ed? ). And we do get reports about postings such as this one, where someone has no class and decides to give away what is not theirs to give. ( Its how I arrived here..)

Second, each time you do this, you pretty much guarentee that others will pay more, Mach3 is said to be worth allot more than is charged, Id appreciate it if you helped us keep it low by suggesting others buy it. If you really need to pirate a lousy 159.00 out of a system you have 15000.00 invested in, its kinda pathetic. But I am curious, if one walks through your shop, will you give freely any Cue they find they like.. or do you expect to get paid for it? Allow us the same freedom. I could easily have made it a dongle program, thus making everyones life difficult, the program more expensive and all to stop deadbeats who will spend 300.00 on a motor, but rip of a 159.00 program for some weird reason.
Lastly, take note that if the program license is sensed as duplicated, ( and you never know from version to version ), Then some very weird things can happen to your cut, so youll never know if you messed up, or if it was on purpose internally. Ive had some interesting conversations about "errors" with some people, only to find out pirated licenses were in use. The fact they had the gall to ask for support with a pirated license is besides the point, their work was ruined, and I had little pity. A license is cheap, your material usually isnt..
My thanks to those that pointed out the illegality of that practice, and I hope Ed, you havent upgraded in some time, you may get a nasty surpise someday when you do.

I'll second that!

I haven't made the move to CNC (yet), but I advised a friend to upgrade his MAXNC to Mach III (and yes he will PURCHASE it). From what I've seen, it's a BIG improvement over the control software that comes with the MAXNC. I can't believe that you can sell it so cheap!

Also, as a former software developer, bootlegging software has always been a (personal) pet peeve of mine.

Rep points for you Art!

Art,
Thanks for thinking of us small guys. There are not many companies left that do.
Ditto.
I got my Mach 2 after buying a Xylotex controller.
Thanks Art for a great software.

Thanks Guys..

Its due to guys like you. I found cnc guys to be the best to work with, and really honest , its only the occasional egg that starts screwing with it all.. Thanks to all of you..

With all do respect Art....

I have not pirated anything... nor have I ever given away your mach 3 program to anyone... I have legitimate copies of both which I paid for originally when I shelled out 15,000.00 cash for my CNC !

I simply suggested giving a member on here bobcad/mach updates....

Don't worry I'm not trying to get into the software business, I'm too busy building cues and sharing knowlege and help to other CNC cuemakers as well !

I don't see the neccessity to obtain my license # but if you really need it I'm sure Matt at align-rite has it on file, becasue I have no idea where to look for it !!

i think you missed the point Art.he was doing it to make money and apparently he never did it anyway.so maybe you should wait until he has actually done before you try to humilate him.

maybe whoever it was who told on Eddie jumped the gun here.
