This is gonna be good, They both make great cues, working together will be great, unless they change their business model and turn into a high production shop, but I doubt that, and yes Bobby Hunter is a class act and then some, I havent spoke to him in years, but I do know him and I wish them the best.

I thought Joey G. was going to be moving the shop south so he could ride his motorcycle year-round? I got one of the last cues out of the old shop last summer and he mentioned his plans. I guess plans change. Hey, glad I saved the shipping tubes from both my Cogs!
I am not sure what to make of this collaboration. Both craftsmen are held in high regard, but it would almost be cooler if they did a limited run of cues together and then again went separate.

Bobby is a great player and cuemaker, and I know he had Joey inlay his cues.
If both of them get together, I wonder if they'll take a few ideas from each and refine them into a "Super cue".

Well, since Joey taught Bob Hunter how to make cues, and provided him with some of his equipment, it is fair to say that Hunter and Cognoscenti cues play similarly alike. I doubt that they are teaming up to make cues together, as much as they will each do their own thing...very similar to Dan Janes and Bill Stroud, in their early days together. Both worked in the same shop (and Tim Scruggs pushed a broom), but made their own separate designs. Not too long after, Stroud moved west and opened his own shop in Aspen, CO. Janes remained in Baltimore. As far as I know they never collaborated on cues either, even though they worked in the same shop. This is how I believe it will work out with Joe and Bob...both excellent players and cuemakers. jmo

bobby told me they are going to "share a shop", not make cues together.

Joey tells me he along with several top cuemakers will be attending The Windy City Open this coming year, with all new cues..

Only 20 top end cues per year? No more plain janes? I don't know what to think about this. On the one hand the Cogs in ciculation should go up considerably...but on the other, I won't be able to get another one without really shelling out the dough!
I taked to Bobby yesterday. He finished 2nd in Hard Times Saramento first of the month 9 ball event.
Bobby said he will be moving in about 5 weeks and that Joey has a location for the shop but nothing is finalized.
The combined Joey/Bobby 'Gold Hunter' classic cue design has already got an order from me... Bobby laughed but said it wasn't out of the question.
We will Miss Bobby around here, a true player's player and one great cue maker.
