Cole Dickson's Memorial Tournament~

Rep to anyone who posts the results.

My friend Chris MacDonald made the last 24, but I don't know what happened after that.

I can only give partial. I know Danny (Ramesh) Gokhul took 3rd. Since he lost the hot seat match to Amar Kang, we can assume he took 1st or 2nd. That's about all I got. Sorry.

Do I get half a rep?:grin-square:

I was watching the match between Amar and Danny and the commentators did finally start to talk about the tournament. They spoke about the fact that it was a tribute to Cole Dickson. I found that part of the commentary to be worth listening to, I never met the man but from what I gathered he was a force in pool and life. That part of the commentary was great!!

I just put put an SOS on Facebook asking if anybody knows the results of the Cole Dickson Memorial Tournament.

People want to know what's wrong with pool, well, this is one area that needs improvement: COMMUNICATION OF RESULTS!

Oscar also said a local player Mark Tiu got 2nd.

2100 and 1400 were top two payouts.

That Amar Kang is back!

Thanks for the update.

I think my buddy tied for 9-12.

Amar is one hell of a player and it doesn't surprise me he won. $2100 doesn't seem like much, but for a 50 dollar entry, its not bad at all.

Thanks Daniel for streaming the event. I watched pretty much most all of what was streamed and it was time well spent. Hope everyone got home safe ;)..........

I really hope my suggestion for putting the brackets up was taken seriously even if Daniel didn't like how I suggested it. It sucks ass to invest time watching something and not be able to see how it all shook out. It's so damned easy to do compared to streaming an event it boggles the mind why anyone wouldn't think it's worth it. Spend a half hour building the bracket and five minutes every hour or so to update and post it. Not just POV but many "free" streamed events don't bother with this simple thing.

Amar Kang ~$2100 undefeated
Mark Tiu ~$1400 Local Bay area player
Danny Gokhul $??? From over the pond

Talked to Amar yesterday.

Amar Kang - $2,100
Mark Tiu - $1,450
Danny Gokhul - $1,000
Deo Alpajora - $650

FULL COVERAGE OF THIS EVENT will be posted on the front page of the AZ Billiards NEWS FEED in the next day or so, including full payouts and additional details.

I worked with Skip tirelessly with Skip Maloney to get all the results and details communicated correctly. I have no control over how long it takes to actually get published.

I apologize to those who are expecting instant results and seemless coordination with tournament directors and publishers but with independent tournaments like these it is sometimes difficult to insure timely reporting. I encourage those who WATCH the live stream to note and report the results as they hear them in commentary, so that those who do NOT watch will get the information, second hand.

Congrats to Amar Kang! I knew you'd pull it off!

It's like when my son washes his clothes without turning them right side out. I try to explain to him that it will take the same amount of moments of his life before he can wear them again no matter when he does this but if he does it before washing them the end results will be much better.

Had you organized and kept a running composite of the event you would have no need to work "tirelessly" when it was over already and the entire event would have been of considerably more value as it was presented live. And you would have expended less total moments of your own life doing it with just a little effort up front.

By the time the results are posted now, pool enthusiasts will be on to their next event and will really not care all that much. Again, how I present things can grate on people I know. Please consider the message though.
