I'm going to be in Fulton Missouri this weekend. I notice on the map that it's near Columbia and Jefferson City. Can anyone tell me if there's any kind of cheap action in that area? I'll be free Fri. night and all day Sat. But doing family stuff on Sunday. Thanks for any help you might offer.

I live in Fulton, and I think I own the only decent pool table in the town, LOL. Columbia and Jefferson City are about the same distance, and each town has a couple of places to play. In Jeff there is a place called Mike's Corner Pocket and a place called Spectators. Both are downtown, and AFAIK both have big tables and small tables. Halfway between Fulton and Columbia on I70 is a town called Millersburg, and they have a bar with 12-15 Diamond bar boxes and two Gold Crowns. In Columbia there are two places downtown. One is called Booches, and is a small place with a few antique tables. They do have two snooker tables and a billiard table if you are into that. The nicest place in Mid-MO is Billiards on Broadway - they have 8 or 10 Gold Crowns and a couple of Valley boxes. The food is good, and there is usually a decent crowd in there. The places in Columbia are non-smoking.

Action is very sparse in the area, but if you want to give me a little info about your speed and what you are looking to play for, I might be able to find you a game or two. Or, if you are into ring games, I might be able to rally enough troops to put one together somewhere on Friday night. Feel free to PM me - I check it often on weekdays.

I had heard a rumor that Mikes Corner Pocket had closed down. (not sure if there is any truth to that though).

streak, what type of game are you looking for? I may be able to swing by Columbia and play a few sets.

I heard that one a few times too. Last I heard they were open under new management, but I'm really not sure.

I haven't played there in years. It was a decent little place in the 90's, last time I was there and saw any action it was John Dudley shooting 9-ball and giving away the world.

Sounds about right. I was probably the only even game he had in Jeff City at the time, and usually if we weren't playing each other we were giving up the last 3 or 4 to get a $3 game of 9-ball. Not a big action town by any means, but always trying to outrun the nuts probably made us both better players.

mikes cp is closed down and now spectators is now right across the street from where mikes was on high street.

Spectators is a nice place. They have 6 9' tables and 1 bar box. The nine footers are a little tight to the wall on one side if against the rail.

Pool tables in lower level, down the steps to the right as you enter. Bar on each level and the food is good.

Hard to find any action there right now. They were closed for 6 months during the move, leagues shut down so everyone has gotten out of playing habit. They just had a captain's meeting this week so I think the regulars will start back soon.

I live in Columbia Mo and would love to play a little. Just give me a call, and I will come down to visit. the number below is my cell phone the pool halls here open by noon.
