Do you have a link to the story?

Long overdue! Hopefully he was inducted as a player and not for 'meritorious service'. I think most people tend to only think of him in terms of the super billiards expo and never got to see (or just forgot) what a great player he was.

Geez, it should be for BOTH!!

for those of us who don't have a clue,,,what 'hall of fame' is this that he's being inducted into ?

links to this 'hall of fame' would be appreciated...

Man, that was WAAAAAY overdue. I'm embarrassed for everyone responsible for not voting Allen in years ago.

At last, justice is done. Allen's omission for all these years has been absurd.

I whole heartedly agree with every comment in this thread but SJM echoed my sentiments exactly! At last, justice IS done. The BCA lost more and more credibility each time Earl was passed over. They repeated the same mistake in passing over Allen Hopkins, which, I believe, was their way of "punishing him" for having the Super Billiard Expo that rivals their annual BCA Expo. It was pure politics. BUT, that's all in the past now!

I am so happy for him! Hearty congratulations!

That is great news,
Allen deserves this on many levels.
He has done so much for pool and the industry over all, that this was certainly long over due!
I am glad for him, he sure deserves the recognition.

The voting just doesn't work that way. It is a private vote by 30 selected individuals who are knowledgeable about players and their respective histories. A player must receive votes from 75% to get in. Maybe some of these people didn't want to vote for Allen for their own reasons. I voted for him every time his name appeared on the ballot. I'm also glad he finally got in. He is deserving as a player and a promoter.

Getting It Together

Allen Hopkins not being voted into the Hall Of Fame is like Lebron James not being voted to the All Star Team. In the past 40 plus years Hopkins is deserving of this recognition as much as any one player. Congratulations Allen ,now can I have 10 to 8?

Congratulations Allen! Not only are you one of the classiest pros to ever pick up a cue, you are also one of the smartest and have given back much to the pool world. I will never forget your generosity, friendship, and grace you have shown me since the first time you took the time out of your busy show to talk with a new case maker.

I am glad that I will be there to see you get inducted as you are one of my top five people in the billiard industry.

It's a travesty that a person like John Barton keeps getting passed over for the Hall of Fame and they let guys like Allen Hopkins in. I'm going to start a boycott or something.
