He came In 3rd In the 9ball also.I sat around and watched Stan for hours this weekend. He worked his butt off for sure.Great playing Stan!! He's a grinder who never gives up.Congrats again Stan.I've never seen someone so tickled after winning a tourny! It was very cool to watch.

Glad to see 2 of my bank stundents winning the last 2 bank tournys At Michael's Billiards. But Stan....your little spot went away, buddy. I forgot to tell ya that before you left, haha.

Many instructors play extremely well but this is not necessary to be a good instructor. Many players are very accomplished but cannot teach.

You don't have to play extremely well to be a good instructor, but you still have to play well :)

Stan happens to be an extremely good instructor who plays extremely well.

Good job Stan, been watching some of it, very impressed. No wonder Landon has to practice so much just too keep up with dad.

Good showing Stan! That had to feel pretty good!

I know I was rootin for Stan.I was thinking the same thing Neil. And yes,he said It felt real good! He was a happy man! That was not a soft feild by any means.Lots of good bank players and 9ball players too.John B.

Congratulations Mr. Shuffett.

You playing well and winning shouldn't surprise anyone that has seen you play.

I concur -- a hearty CONGRATULATIONS to such a gentleman and devoted student of our sport!

Yes, John, I was quite happy with my overall play and especially with the Bank win. I have played a lot of bank over the years and it was nice to win a titled tourney in that area. Those 2 events were my first in 4.5 years.

As far as your students go, I took pretty good notes when you worked with Landon....so you could make a case for 3 in row.

As for spot, he didn't roam very far. He's back now.

Thanks, John and I hope we can play soon. Phil and Landon could use some sparring, as well, if that can work out.

Thanks, John! No, it was not a soft field for the 9 ball or the bank. I didn't even think about possibly getting half of myself in the bank calcutta but I typically do not bother with the calcutta anyway.

The Diamonds at Michael's were in perfect shape. I have never seen a room owner so concerned about keeping his tables in top condition.

Thanks, Falcon Eddie and to all that shared such nice comments about my recent win. Playing 2 events at the same time was quite an experience. I think I played about 8 hours on Saturday and 10 to 12 hours on Sunday.
The GSBT (Shannon and Marge) do a super job week in and week out with running their tour. Michael is a terrific host when the GSBT stops in Fairfield, Ohio.

Stan,

Congratulations on the bank tournament win. The third place finish in the nine ball wasn't too shabby, either! Sounds like you're just gettin' warmed up.

Best,
Mike
