This was a great win against a very impressive field.

Congrats Mike; you still have B-I-G game!

Hope to see more from you this year.

What does Mike Dechaine and Patrick Reed have in common?

They both piss people off.....and they both win things.

lol. I have the same deflated feeling reading that Mike won as I did when Patrick won the masters. Both amazing talents.

Takes a year off and wins a Pro Event — what does that tell you about the state of “professional pool”

I see it differently...

to me it confirms that MD still has a lot of talent and skill.

and, as you know, he wasn't *completely* off from pool over the last year. ;)

agreed, however, in comparison, it was favorable.

Yeah, I would look at it as favorable too if in succession I had to best a US Open champion, a World Champion, one of the best players ever and then the reigning US Open Champion.

Sometimes you need a break in sports and life. A break can do you good. Start fresh with a new mental perspective and outlook.

Sure MD entered with that 'nothing to loose' no pressure, play loose, have some fun attitude and opponents were thinking lay down.

Takes the cheese then disappears again....or ?

Have a good day,
-Kat,

Des Linden just won the Boston Marathon (first American woman to win in 33 years) after doing exactly that.

What a coincidence PB ? HUGE for her and good showing against very strong field for the *semi retired take a break MD :groucho:

Well, I don't think it's like he swore off all pool for a solid year. I'm pretty sure he played
some.
However, I do think you're probably right about the state of professional pool, at least in
The USA, it certainly doesn't seem to be at the same level it once was

I’m glad to see Mike back competing. He is clearly USA’s #2 player. He should be on the Mosconi team every year.

Everyone in Pool has some personality. No sane person would be degenerates like we all are. Mike’s personality is just fine, and he is one of us. A pool player.

I do not agree that Mike is the 2nd best player in the US. Ask Mike if he would like to match up with Justin Bergman anywhere in the country.

As much as I love Bergmans game I don't think he would play Mike in rack your own 9/10 ball and if he does my window is open on Dechaine! Neutral racker I think it's a coin flip.

Why doesn't Justin travel? He's so talented and his time is gonna go by like it does for everyone.

I offered to put him up here and match up with somebody for big bucks and nothing.
