Congratulations Jasmin Ouschan!

Congratulations to my friend Jasmin Ouschan, with winning 2 gold medals and 1 silver medal at the European Championships 2009.

I know she was under major pressure this year, since the Championships were held in Austria, her home country, and I also know she put a lot of pressure on herself too.

Her main goal was to win all 3 diciplines, 14-1, 8-ball and 9-ball, and it was hard for her to lose the 14-1 with only 5 balls, 75-70 to Gerda Hofstatter. Even more impressing that despite of this loss she went on to completely destroy her opponents in 8-ball and 9-ball.

When looking back at this year's performance by Jasmin Ouschan, she was in complete control and total dominating. Her game wins:

8-ball: 36-12
9-ball: 42-12 (7-0 in the final)
14-1: 445-186

Too bad she was only 5 balls away from winning all three...

I'm real happy for you Jasmin, and I hope that you will look back at this Championships as the year you totally dominated instead of thinking on the 5 balls you needed to win all three...

Yeah, strong effort by the maginficent Jasmin. Two golds and a silver speaks for itself. Solid effort by Gerda, too, with a gold and two bronzes, but Jasmin is, unquestionably, the queen of this year's European Championships, and is to be congratulated.

Jasmin is really on the move, and she is and will continue to play a whole lot of pool. Her April began at WPBA San Diego, and when that was over, it was off to the European Championships, where she competed in all three disciplines. She'll now head on over to the Women's World 10-ball Championship in Asia, which, I think, starts Wednesday. When that's over, she'll complete her three continent tour by competing in the Predator 10-ball event in Las Vegas on May 11.

Jasmin must really be building up some serious frequent flyer miles!
