I have been around pro pool for close to 30 years ... I can tell you stories of watching Archer hustling guys for $20k a set when he was teenager. I know very well that SVB has not won a WPA-sanctioned WC. I am not delusional.
Here is that 2007 match. It is actually quite a good match of you guys haven't seen it. Take specific note of how the commentators announce the victory ... "The World's First 10-Ball World Champion".

So today, everyone looks in their perfectly clear rearview mirrors as historical scholars and calls SVB fans idiots and stupid for looking at him like a world champion. But I can tell you that in 2007-2009 people thought otherwise especially in the dark years with the WPA ... many people thought they were done. Watch that match ... the commentators were not idiots and people were not delusional and stupid for watching that final.
All of this stems from the pitiful way pro pool has been governed. I am 100% in support of the WPA moving things forward with sanctioning. But, the history of this sport and way it has been governed has not been clear.
