Conical joint

Some more pictures of another three cues. The one in the middle with Azurite is my favorite.

Thanks for taking the time to explain all of that Richard.

I would be willing to let someone hit with my Layanti (still haven't learned how to spell it LOL) if they want to PM me.

Well HELL YES!! You're one hell of a great guy! Send that baby out and I'll be more than happy to give it a go. Would you like to try out a Cue-Tec in return? PM and we'll settle the details.

BTW Richard, turquoise is one of my favorites. I do like THOSE cues!

Do you mean turquoisecrazy is one of your favorites?! Touche!!
And for the summary previously requested...uhhh don't hold it upsidedown? Is that good enough for a C, teacherman? Dammit, this hole is getting deep!

I meant that if you were in Frederick Md., but you knew that anyway LOL.

Heh, since you like front weighted cues like me, how about if I send you the cue and you could drill out the butt and weight it so that it would really be front weighted? At 20 ounces, it has too much weight in the back for me. Then we both win - you get your protype and I get my dream cue. Deal?

You can have a 20 oz. cue and it may still be front weighted, just depends.
What's the actual balance point in inches and what is the weight of the butt itself? You'd have to drill out a whole lot of wood...best leave that up to the cuemaker.

In your best George Balabushka impersonation when explaining the hit of a cue, tell me what makes the Zylr, Hagan stand out. I've never hit with either, but many times someone will come on and describe the hit being great when it has a very soft hit, like going through butter and you hardly know you've even hit the ball. Some have mentioned the softer hit of a Layani in this fashion.
I don't know how to describe it bud. You just have to try em one of these days. But, here's how I can describe their hit.
They do not hit soft, for sure. They have great feedback. You know if you stroked the ball wrong. They feel like house cues.

Hey Joey,

Did I read somewhere that Kerry makes a sneaky pete? Just curious because I thought he made one style only.

Thanks,
Dave

He does but like a lot of makers, he hates making them. :D
He's way too busy now to make them.
He's made a few of them from his days at Best Billiards when broken Valley house cues was abundant and he had time to make them.
Now, he has years worth of work on his players' cues.

Don't ask me to find you any Prewitt sneakies too. :D
Those are very nice too. Belive me, I've offered all locals here who have Zylr and Prewitt sneakies money for their cues.
Bahhstahds don't want to sell em.
One banger here has an olivewood Z and won't sell it. The thing hits a ton and a half.

I had my Layani cues in Vegas. It is too bad we did not get to meet, you are all welcome to try out my cue.

As far as I know, John Morra plays with a Layani cue and he plays in a lot of the tournaments on the East coast. But I am not sure if he would let other players try his cue.

On the WPBA tour, Hsin Huang, Jennifer Chen, and Tiffany Nelson endorse Layani cues.

Thank you.

Doesn't Jennifer Chen play with a $35,000.00 Cognescenti?

They fit your lovely lizard case though.
They might even let you fly with them. :D

Let me try to answer this question. Jennifer Chen has three cues that she uses--a Gina (the rainbow--with silver border on the ivory points), a Cognoscenti(with diamond, white gold, ivory, and silver and turquoise), and a Layani cue. She uses the Cognoscenti in most big tournaments because that is the cue she has been using for the lonest time. She is having her Layani cue re-balanced now. She thinks her Layani cue is a bit more front balanced than her Cognoscenti. She wants to try and see if the cue would play even better with a bit more weight at the butt.

Jennifer Chen has a whole line of cues built for her by Thierry Layani. They are being marketed to Japan. You can see those cues at www.layanicues.com under Jennifer Chen collection.

Jennifer Chen will be seen at her booth in the World Pool Championship showcasing her cues this July in Taiwan. I will try to post some pictures for all of you.

Will I see any of the Azers in Taiwan?

I would love to see a picture of a Prewitt sneaky pete. Does it have any rings?

You mean my underwear? Hmmm....I never thought of that for flying. Just tie the cue to my leg with rope like I do to my lizard. Great suggestion, Joey...I always knew you were a pal. :p :D
