Thread got hijacked in other part of forum so im reposting here,

I have a line on a 10ft brunswick centennial snooker and heard you can convert them to 9ft pool table? Is it worth the effort?
Thanks Jim

You might be able to convert to a 10' pool table. I think it would be quite a job, though. You'd have to change rails, too low for pool, and pockets, too small for pool balls. Also, the cushions themselves would have to be changed for pool, I think.
I've seen a Brunswick 5 x 10 Billiard table converted to Snooker, but not the other way around.

Without major modification, taking a table from 10' snooker to 9' pool is not feasible. Snooker to pool is enough work, but sizing down is counter productive. Flip the snooker to someone else and buy the 9' table that you want.

It doesn't seem worth the effort to do this. I have a 9 foot Brunswick Centennial table and upon looking at it I don't see where it's worth the effort. The aluminum siding would also present a problem if it had to be cut down.

Like someone sugguested maybe if you're getting a good deal on the snooker table you can flip it and get what you need.

You asked this question in the mechanic's section, I answered you in a funny sort of way...LOL You can't step down in the size of the table from a 10 foot to a 9ft because of the frame of the table, that would require cutting down the length and width of the frame, as well as the slate, cutting new pocket shelfs...and anyone that knows anything about this kind of work would have told you the same-thing. I don't know who told you it could be done, but it's obvious that person has no knowledge what-so-ever when it comes to working with pool tables...period. Then you come over here and ask the same question,....just buy yourself a 9ft pool table if you want one, and don't worry about trying to turn a 10 snooker table into something that it can not be turned into:D

Glen

If you knew who I was, I guess maybe you wouldn't have jumped to another thread asking the same question...I'm trying to help you here:D

I guess i wouldnt have wasted the space on the forum by asking the question twice if i didnt get such funny sort of answers. So as far as taking your word or the person who said it could be done at this point i would take his over yours cause of the way you responded to my posting.

I don't want to see this thread get nasty, but realkingcobra is probably right. I don't think you can cut the frame and do all the rest of the stuff you would need to do and have it come out financially feasible even if physically possible.

Not looking to get nasty with anybody and realkingcobra made some good points on his last post and thats all i asked for. I have always had good luck dealing with everybody on this forum but i think joking around should best be kept thru pming each other than using somebodies posting to do it on.

I believe you're absolutly correct in that Realkingcorbra is probably right. He seems to be a very knowledgeable person in regards to pool tables and wants to share his experience with us. It's just that sometimes his wordings appear to be a little harsh. It doesn't bother me but some could take it wrong. That's just the way he is. Which is ok.

LOL...I guess I did it again:D well sir, take his word for it, and go for it...it'll probably turn out just fine I'm sure;) It's been a long day for me as I stated in another post, I'm just in one of them moods:rolleyes:

There you go getting in trouble again, lmao :D
I would agree that what OP wants to attempt is a very major undertaking
and more trouble and expense then what it's worth. Screw it up and you have firewood.
Sell the snook, get a regular table.
