This has probably been gone over before. But can someone explain exactly what this is and why it is done or not done.
And could anyone tell me if my Lucasi is or isn't cored and why.
And please lets not get into the Chinese vs USA debate again.

When asking a question it's not nice to make stipulations. If you didn't want the debate just why did you even mention it?

Furthermore, if you're going to be too lazy to read what's already been posted on the subject, you might want to avoid sounding like you're put off already.
Try the search feature, it works great!

That certainly is not a Christan attitude!!!!!!!! But it is better to be a Smart Ass than to have your head stuck in your Ass.

Handles are pie-laminats.
The forearm I think is cored as well.
They are done for stability purposes.

Ha! my, my. What a disrespectful thing to say coming into the 'Ask The Cuemaker' Section.

The best thing to do is to try and understand where we are coming from before you tell us to go to hell.

That is, if you ever want help from this section. Truth is, you did touch a nerve, and you have no right to demand anything.

Ask politely and respectfully, exactly what it is you want to know, and you'll get a much better response.

BTW, there are many reasons for coring and they are mentioned in the threads above. Good Luck running with the dogs! and your high tech, cored Lucasi!

Coring is done to stabilize unstable woods and also to achieve the desired weight and balance. I have not cut a Lucasi in half to find out if it is cored. You might try contacting Cue and Case and ask them if Lucasi cues are cored. Let us know if you find out one way or the other.

Do you core your cues ?

Dave

There are a few reason why one may choose to core his cues.

-stability
-weight distribution
-consistency from cue to cue
-overall weight

For all you guys who are sensative go take a dump and fall back in it ... As to why core a cue , 2 reasons mostly , to reduce weight and make the wood more stable or less prone to move ... the Lucasi cues are not cored ...

First of all i would like to thank those of you who answered my question with out all the drama.
Second i only mentioned "not to start the china thing again" is because i think some of you are not over it yet.
Third i asked the question rather then use the search feature because i wanted to know the reason and thought some new people here may never have heard of cored cues.
And lastly i think some of you self appointed forum bullies have no right to tell me or anyone else how to word a post.
And yes i am very happy with my hi tech Lucasi cue and i will probably buy another one. It's my money and i will spend it how i want.
And if anyone objects to this post my prior reply still stands.

First, I think you are a little too sensitive.

Second, no body really cares about the China thing.

Third, most of us get tired of answering the same questions over and over and over again. All the information you will ever need is at your finger tips, by simply doing a search. For those who have never heard of cored cues, when they do they can research the subject.

Lastly, Lucasi cues are not High Tec in any way, and they certainly are not cored, but if you are going to spend the money to buy an import cue Lucasi is one of the better choices. Because at least they have a Guaranty, and the US distributer Cue and Case sales stands behind their products so don't get your panties in a bunch!!!!:grin:

If the choice is between being a smart ass, a regular ass, or a dumb ass which do you think most people would choose?

Willee

I core cues for a few reasons. Weight is one, stability is another. Playability is another. I dont see anything wrong with what was asked here. I beleive the op wasnt looking for a debate he was just looking for answer to a question that he didnt know that answer to!

Willie since it's all about being an Ass, I think being a Smart Ass would certainly be a Majority Choice, with being a regular Ass as a close second. Now along those lines I suspect that none would choose to be a Dumb Ass, however, choice has little to do with it. In my opinion, only a persons actions or words can qualify a person for a certain title, and with that said I think you left out a choice and that would be beng All Ass. You see Willee some one who is All Ass alerts others to their presents with out opening their mouth and this is the most Dangerous type of ASS because they can not be detected on an INTERNET Forum!!!!!!!!!!:)

LOL ... you are exactly right.

I also left out "big ass" but that was intentional.
If you seen mine you would know why.
