Corey Deuel with Meucci cues now

While it's nice to see Meucci making attempt to get back into the professional scene, I think all of their claims are crap. They make low quality, high cost cues.

I have the Meucci Pro solid-maple shaft and it ISN'T "low quality" when I compare it to the other shafts I have. It is equal or BETTER as far as quality goes and is about the same cost as other supposedly low-deflection shafts (OB, Predator, etc.)

Terry, Thanks for posting, always like to hear what is
going on in the pool world. That sucks to hear that
Sky is broke, maybe we can start a fundraiser or
something.
Keep us posted.

Thanks, Carl

Really so sky is rich from pool and can turn down sponsors ? Wow him and svb are the only two I guess lol

I said "high cost, low quality cues," not shafts.

Their overall cue is high cost and low quality. For the cost of some of their cues, I would expect they use quality materials, rather than acrylic inlays.

Next time, try to read the entire post, before you get upset.

Phil Mickelson won his first Masters with Titleist irons and later switched to Callaway when they offered more money and Titleist wouldn't re-negotiate his endorsement deal. So, it's not just a pool thang.

My first two cues 20+ years ago were Meuccis, but simply don't like the look and feel of them after owning other cues since. That said, they seem to be putting their money where their mouths are in terms of supporting pro players and trying to grow the game, and that's something I can't hate on.

Absolutely man. Tiger woods played with Nike when it was generally felt that they were the worst clubs in golf because they paid him insane money. But they can go negotiate. As much as I love watching the kid play sky like any pro doesn't have the negotiating power of tiger woods and Phil nickelson l.

Corey also posted that Bob was great at taking the time to get his cue to his exact specs. When you're having a cue built to your exact specs like that, I'm not sure it matters who made the cue as long as it's to the specs desired.

For your information, I read the entire post and I didn't get upset at anything. I consider the "shaft" to be part of the cue and I have a Meucci shaft. I have never owned one of their butts.

For what it's worth...I played with Jason Shaw's cue for a while at the last dcc and I thought his cue played real good. John B.

Then how can you comment on their overall quality? You can't.
If I put BBS Racing wheels on an Ford Pinto, does that mean the Ford is high quality? No...

I worked in a pool hall when Meucci cues were the #1 playing cue of the pros and the Meucci factory was about 100 miles from there. I have seen and played with lots of Meucci cues over the last 50 years...I just never owned one.

I can comment on the quality of the ones I've seen and played with, can't I?

I guess you are allowed to comment, but others aren't?

Aloha

This is funny.

Alex, Corey, Thorsten, Mika, Deschaine, all these TOP TOP guys every year it seems jump ship to another company. We can find all the press realnesses if one was so inclined. From Predator, to Mezz, to Tiger, to OB, and now to Meucci.
.

It may be the just the opposite where the cue companies are dropping the players due to results. We see it every year in Supercross/Motocross, whether it is the bike, boots, helmet, goggles, gloves or fuel riders are always getting new sponsers.

When the hell was that lol 25 years a go. Before they started making crap so bad our local pool hall was sending 3 quarters of them back because they were warped, inlays falling out or glue marks right out of the box? Was that before internet companies like ozone billiards refused to sell them any longer ? They had a great run in the 80s until they started making shit.

+1

He wants to say they are quality, but I highly doubt he's seen a Meucci that was made in the last 10 years. I've handled more than three dozen Meucci's and only a handful were original Meucci's or made more than 15 years ago. The newer Meucci's, made 1-10 years ago, were absolute garbage. Cracked finish, popping inlays, warping, uneven stains, mismatched collars... you name it.

Good for Corey!!!

the new cues play very nice. I really like the new one piece pro shaft it has a very comfortable taper and a nice solid feel when contacting the cue ball.

these "newer" cues are much nicer than 80% of the "customs" on here from people with 1/20 the experience building them for twice the price.

Im sure Mr Meucci and Corey would like to see positive posts on this matter.

Do you have any data to show where you came up with that percentage?

I'm sure they would, but Meucci doesn't exactly have a stellar track record.

How much does a much major sponsor like Meucci pay to a pro pool player? Is it more than OB (the previous company Deuel was sponsored by)?

Meucci gave the finger to customers and dealers for SO LONG he doesn't deserve another look, ever again.

i think your opinion is a little harsh. yes he had a bad rep for a while and deservedly so. it is pretty well known that for a while bob pretty much let the company run itself and quality suffered.

using your anology no one should be buying chrysler products now a days. back in the 80's the "k " cars were the biggest pieces of crap that ever rolled on 4 wheels. there is not a manufactuer out there that has not had quality control issues at one time or another.

have any of you haters seen...held...played with meuccis new line of cues lately. i have and i can tell you that they are a whole lot better than they were 10 years ago.

not speaking for bob...but it seems to me he saw the light and started getting more involved in the operation again and it shows with the better quality lately and his involvement with the pros.

i went and played pool at the factory last wed night and bob was there going over shots with skylar and another pro whos name escapes me right now. they were shooting when i walked in around 6;30 and stayed at it steady up until around 10;00.

i lost a match to a guy who has never beat me because i was more interested in watching bob and skylar than playing my match lol.

i would not call it drills but they were definitely practicing certain types of shots over and over. btw......this was on a 9' gold crown . just a lil info for guys who say he is just a bar table player.

Hey now, those werent bad cars. I decimated a whitetail deer doing 50-55 in a 1983 Dodge Aries, and didnt have a scuff anywhere on the car.
