I think -- and I may be wrong -- that they did engage in fisticuffs a couple years ago in Florida at a tournament. I think Charlie was playing in the tournament as well as running it, a hard feat in itself, but when he forfeited Corey, it didn't sit well with Corey.

Oh my, we gotta dig up Rubyron's skit on this. It and Derek Disco's Hitler video are my 2 all time faves on az.

As I recall it:

What happened is Charlie's DP company was holding a tourney. Corey looked at the board and saw he was to play his match the following day at 1 pm and shows up accordingly. However, his starting time had been changed to 11 am and he therefore forfeited the match. Corey was very PO'd of this change. No one he thought made any attempt to notify him of the change, and he took it personally. So in the pool hall mid-tourney, he confronted Charlie.

He had a few choice words and took a swat. I believe the punch bordered on a slap, ya know one of his soft break strokes that made a little contact. Bystanders intervened, and no other physicality ensued.

Twas not MMA...

I remember this from back then

I rememeber seeing this as it unfloded. One thing I can't rememebr though.

The match that was "rescheduled", was it corey vs charlie? I do not remmber that part of the story. Did Charlie get the benefit of the forfeit?

No where does it say that corey was scheduled to play charlie or anyone else. The match that was changed.. was it between Corey and charlie?

Who was supposed to be Corey's opponent?

i heard that's because charlie moved up the shot time for his match and didn't tell cory. i can't confirm that though it's just what i heard

I'd rather be full on punched than slapped. he might as well have made him his bottom b*tch in front of everyone.

so did corey and charlie get into it? charlie looks like he can throw a punch

Oops, sorry poolpro. No, I'm pretty sure Corey was to play someone else - not Charlie. Whether Charlie was behind the time change and there was a deviousness to it, I don't know. I'd like to think not, but obviously Corey had a different take on the matter at the time!

Outside

I heard Charlie told Corey they could take it outside if he wanted, but he(Corey) would not like it.

Earl and Charlie almost came to blows once also. Earl was playing in one of Charlie's first events and made his way into the money before he was knocked out of the tourney. Earl went to Charlie and asked for his prize money so he could leave and not run up another day's motel and nut where Charlie refused and told him he'd have to wait til the end of the tournament to be paid. Words were exchanged and Charlie barred Earl from all future events.
