cornerstone custom cues robbed today

Reposting; it seems fit:

As been suggested, the sooner you can post pics of all the missing cues, the better. Perhaps mods should sticky with descriptions. Also perhaps we can link ebay searches with the items/names tagged so anyone can just click and see if any of the missing items are listed.

Ebay search for "Judd cue"

Ebay search for "Ginacue cue"

Ebay search for "Black Boar cue"

et cetera...

My prayers go out to you and your family in your time of struggle. If you need any help, you're more than welcome to PM me as well.

I would have someone at this show with a list of what was taken from you. Make the rounds of the bars around where the show is and put the word out that your looking to buy a big lot of cues for cash money. If you get a bite on this, don't go alone to see all the cues. Remember they and everybody else thinks you have a ton of cash on you to buy that many cues, so be careful.

The best way to handle it is to ask to see a few of the cues they have. If they are yours, set up a place and time to see the the rest of them. THEN CALL THE POLICE. Let them show up for the bust. I would be right there with the police or parked where you could see the bust go down. Then get over there as fast as you can and get or make a list of how many cues are there. Sometimes the amount you get back shrinks a bit if everyone doesn't know you have a list of what the polce took from the thieves. Johnnyt

I started a thread on keeping your hi-end cues safe from thieves a few months ago. I said with the economy going South that these custom cue shops were going to get hit. Johnnyt

Don't Lose Your High-End cues to crooks
I have hesitated writing this and putting it on AZ for a long time now. I would be the last person to ask how much a cue is worth as in my fifty plus years of playing my most expensive was about $300.

I have been watching the prices of cues on here and other sites for years. Custom cues and top of the line production cues are worth big money nowadays. I've also seen and visited a lot of cue maker's shops with very little security and poolrooms that sold and kept high-end cues at their counters in racks or in glass cases. It's also not unusual for a small-time private collector to have $20,000 to $50,000 worth of cues in their house.

With the economy bad and still sinking fast, these cues ARE going to be targets for thieves. Most of the shops that are on property next to the house or in the basement I could be in, in less than two minutes. I know most of you are going to say, "If someone tries to rob me I'll blow his head off". We know when you're awake or sleeping. They know when your there and where and about how long you'll be if your not. Believe me it's easy pickings.

I'm far from proud of what I use to do in what seems like another life to me today. I planned and went on 96 jobs in just over 20 years. Some of the biggest were boats. We (2 of us) did one scrap yard in the late fifties where we got Aluminum and Stainless steel ingots to the tune of $32,000 profit for four hours work and a week or so of planning. Never brought a gun, never got shot at, never got busted, no one ever got hurt.

Anyway, be careful. Secure your buildings and shops better. If you have several high-end cues you have to do work on, hide them or put them in a safe when your not working on them or not there. Insurance is a must for sure. Johnnyt

Bill,

I sincerely hope you get everything back and in perfect shape. Things like this literally make my stomach turn. I can't even begin to imagine how you are feeling.

All the best,
Koop

This makes me sick. REALLY sick. There's nothing more in the world I hate more than a thief. I'm praying for ya. What works better than praying is to send a letter campaign to the pawn shops and pool halls in the region and to scan e-Bay every day. Don't go quietly into the night and you'll know exactly who did it shortly. Smart thieves don't steal pool cues, remember that.

Spider,

The pic you attached is disgusting.. I see your point but think that the pic is really unnecessary.. Not an attack, just my opinion.

Peace, JBK

Gone. It was a rash reaction to someone losing their lively hood in one quick swoop. It does make me that sick - sorry for the visual.

Hope the COPS get the burglars. Bill do some fliers, get them in the hand of every pool player with in 200 miles of the shop. Offer a REWARD. People talk, Peopler listen, Rewards MOTIVATE people.

A friend of mine had an electronics shop that was robbed twice-break ins at night. My buddy then spent every evening in his shop with a shotgun. He waited 3 months. He shot two guys, killed one at least- i think both. He was never bothered by it that i could see.

So anyway the point is Thieves Beware-It could happpen to you.

The cues stolen from my store were 450 miles away in Oklahoma the next day. 200 miles will not cover it. Should be nationally. Thats the point of the internet. Find tournaments and who is running tournaments. Find the directors and mail them notices. This is where someone will get highest dollar for those cues. These cues are stolen by a pool player/cue collector. Someone who knows their value most likely. Not some crack head selling them for $20 at a pawn shop. They will show up eventually. Hope you had them documented well enough for the police. They are a pain to deal with if you just have your word and some vague receipts. No matter what the value is. Good luck on this horrible situation.

Devastating. Sorry about your misfortune. We all will be keeping you in our thoughts and will be on the look out.

Bill

My prayer is that your hope will be restored. Bill, you show trust in people. You act with generosity and selflessness. You have inspired me, more than once, to try and become a better person. Please know that you are not alone in this. If someone has taken away your hope or faith in people and in what you have built here, then surely they have stolen from all of us.

If you need high end consignments, please ask and I will provide some cues. If you have pics and a listing...complete or partial, share it with me and I will help you watch for the cues.

Your children have the greatest resource by knowing the hope and faith of their father. I pray you never lose it and I ask that those who have been touched by your generosity keep you in their thoughts.

Cash Reward

I am so sorry to hear about your recent misfortune. You have helped many people over the years in their purchasing of otherwise unobtainable custom pool cues. Personally, you were a great help to me in the early years of my business. My prayers are with you and your family.

As a possible avenue to persue, I want to offer you $1000.00 to apply to a "reward for information" fund to be offered by you. Knowing that you have been devastated both mentally and fianancially, I am hopeful other AZ members would also offer to help. The details as to how you would use these monies to recover your cues would be up to you. Let me know if and when you need the money. It will be there for you.

Man this is sad, luckily there was nobody there (im guessing) or it would have been much worse.

good luck.
