The story is when Tim closed his shop Cory and Bob Frey each got half of the contents of the shop. Cory had a lot of unfinished parts and with them assembled the Scruggs parts to finished cues while adding his own touch ("SCRUGGS by BARNHART" was born). The first batch was 5 cues that had 4 points, hoppe rings and bumper less.Cory gave me 1 at the SBE a few years ago (and they play perfect). The next year he built 5 more, 4 points, delrin butts w/bumpers (except 1 of the 5 was ivory built for me). 2 years ago at Cory's SBE booth Cory, Tim Scruggs and I sat and picked out the last point sets and material for the last 5 cues. This past SBE Cory brought the cues with him and I grab them all. These were quite different.All signed by Tim and Cory.
Cory Barnhart is one of the top cue makers at this time.

Historic cues you have there. I love the fact that Mr. Scruggs signed them!

Did not notice before.

After posting the pictures I just noticed how perfect the points turned out, not only taking someone else's parts to work on and getting the points perfect on each cue but all 5 cues match each other.

Cue #4....2nd From the Right......

Take the inlay arrangement from cue #2 (2nd cue from left) and move it to cue #4 (2nd cue from right) and it would be a stunning design.
Since you can't do that, cue #4 stands on it's own merit.....great forearm stain.......a lot nicer than my Scruggs cue.

The Purple monster is awesome.

Yep. The middle one is my favorite. Tied with that 8 point Barnhart in the case.
Mike Cochran said to me personal verbatim Cory Barnhart built one mother %#cker of a cue.
That is a giant compliment from one of the best ever.

Great cases

What was nice was walking into SBE and Cory pulling out these 5 cues and the best 8 point Barnhart on to the table. After my shock at how beautiful they were I turned around and walked over to Whitten's booth grabbed this great case that made a perfect home for them.They have been there ever since.
 
Beautiful cues Eric! You and I met at SBE a few years back briefly. If you speak with Tim soon, please tell that Catbird hello from Mitch in Philly.
 
These cues are awesome and so are you Eric for putting them in the finest Scruggs, Cochran and Barnhart collection on earth. Thanks so much for presenting them for all of us to admire.
