Could anyone get hold of Dennis Searing?

I see your point Phil but the difference is Nikki told him not to send the car or money, Dennis on the other hand took their cues and money, and wouldn't even return a simple
phone call.
Theirs a big difference an in my opinion theirs at least 7-10 other cue makers out their doing just as good work as Mr. Searing without all the hassle.

no no no ....

I haven't discredited myself at all and I full stand behind my statement that their is other cue makers doing just as good of work as Dennis. You can go over to the cue gallery and look for your self.

There is NOBODY doing the work that Dennis is doing PERIOD! You should get your eyes checked.

Please name the 7-10 other cuemakers. I always like to learn stuff from the new cue collectors.

What makes you think I'm new to cues, I'm 39 and I grew up in a pool room my grandfather
owned. I just woke up but here's a few off the top of my head.
Thomas Wayne
Tony and Donnie- blackboar
Bob Manzino
Michael Vollmer
Arthur
Andy Gilbert
And yes I put Gilbert on their he's done some amazing cues that don't get posted.
Corey Barnhart
Tascarell -maybe not his inlays but his points are as good as any body's
Chris Nitti
Chris Bayne
Travis- Blackcreek he's doing some amazing stuff as well

an

Ed Prewitt
Joel Herceck - I seen a couple that are in private collections at Derby that awesome.

sorry

As far as the knee pad joke I was in the wrong to say something so stupid
and for that I apologize, I wrote it when I was in a foul mood and having a bad
day.

No offense taken, If that is the biggest problem I have in a day, I have no problems.

I know Searing is a master craftsman and he makes beautiful cues but I do not get how some are saying his work bests BB. IMO I put BB a notch above Searing, it may be a small notch but above none the less.

Apples and oranges in cue styles, very hard to make that statement or comparison.

What makes me think your new to collecting cues? How many Searings have you held in your hands? Played with? Compared side by side with the makers you've listed?

I'm friends with several that you have listed and I disagree. I've held and played with a cue from every name you listed and many others you haven't listed.

To level set - I'm a just a guy who appreciates cues. The Searings I own were purchased on the secondary market then sent to Dennis for refinishing. One was returned in a very timely manner and the other took longer than anticipated due his health issues. I'm not on his list nor do I wish to be. Would I love him to build me a cue? Hell yes!

To each his own I guess, but to stand on the soapbox like you are is comical to me.

I'm saying that because people are saying no one can do the work Dennis does. So when it comes to a stick that means what - how the cue plays or design fit and finish of cue. I think my statement holds up in those aspects.

Yes I held his cues and yes I've played with them I'm sure Erine (Gina cue) or Randy Mobley and many on that list
find your statements comical to them.

I think it's possible, maybe even probable, that Dennis Searing makes the most precise cues of any cuemaker now or ever. His capabilities and attention to detail are astounding.

With that said, his cues are not required to win championships. SVB and many others have proven this.

But for collectors who enjoy owning the very best, or players who can afford to play with whatever cues they want, these two groups can fully appreciate what comes out of Dennis' shop.

best,

Spot on! I don't collect, I play with my Searibg every day because I am fortunate enough
to be able to.

Lots of choices out there, I made mine.

I am a huge Runde fanatic and can't see myself ever letting go of any SS jointed Micarta ferrule cue he has made and I would love to have more, but I'm like a kid waiting on Christmas for the Searing shaft I found for sale. I only wish I could of paid Dennis the premium I paid for the shaft directly. Anyone who has had the chance to gain insight on cue building from Dennis will understand. If I believed in God, I would think he made this shaft. It's that great!!

I've tried avoiding this thread. I'm wondering if the facts about Dennis's health over the last 2 years has been stated? I can't imagine that if people actually knew the truth that this thread would have gone as long and without grace as it has.

I know Dennis doesn't want any excuses made for him or for the world to know his personal life. I will say that we're lucky he's still around.

Ya well, when he wants your $2500 he tells you his life story! All about his sister, car broken into, girlfriend... lada lada. All I want is my cue or my $2500 back. Is that to much to ask? We all have our problems, unless he is brain dead, he needs to let me know what he is going to do. Cue or money back.
