Give the guy a break. Even if he does nothing, he's done more then just about everyone here. Does he deserve some negativity? He does seem to ask for it sometimes.
Sometimes???????? Hey, i like a good argument but why is he so combative??? I mean every single thread/post is just complete warfare with him. And the 'i'm gonna save pro pool' shit got old a LONNNNNNNNNNNNNG time ago.

I said it a couple of time, I wish him luck because he is trying, not just talking.

Joe Rogan has good thing going doing what he does. Why do something out of your area of expertise.

Joe Rohan was just featured on cover of Cigar Aficionado, guy worked real hard to make it to where he is,

Yes.... and I also get tired of people digging at scabs. It's just an invitation to start more.

Who watches TV or cable anymore? Oh, right, stingy old people.

Face it, pro pool missed the boat. Or better, it was on the boat, let the hull rot, then didn't get off when the rescue came.
Uh….ESPN has a pretty broad audience and most viewers are younger rather than older.
Their platform is built around pulling in younger viewers…..under 45…..perfect place for pool.

ESPN.com is a favorite website, but very few people under 55, especially in urban areas subscribe to or watch cable or broadcast TV.

ESPN may be the correct entity, but not on cable, if you want the younger generations.

Personally, I only know one person in the 50 and under who uses cable or broadcast TV. Everybody I know uses streaming.

But, by all means keep thinking that you know best, keep marketing it to old white dudes. I don't care, I'm fine just playing pool.

I don’t have any skin in the outcome….I just want to see pool rebound.

In fact, it was great news that one of our pool halls has returned to normal operating hours.
It now opens at 11am whereas previously it was 5pm. It’s a smaller pool hall but the owners
are keeping it really clean, are recovering all the tables with Predator cloth and has replaced
the art on the walls with big screens TVs and mirrors. Personally, I’d like to see it become a
private billiards club, bring back the snooker table that’s in storage and limit the membership.
Ideologist was opening private clubs for awhile. I liked the idea & wish it would happen locally.

Crazy take...but what the heck. Enjoying reading this thread and made my mind spin for a minute.

Are golfers who play at private clubs a good target crowd? They have means and at most clubs there is a men's room for the men to hang out and room for a table. They have time - hiding out from job and wifey. Golfers like to gamble a bit - so like minded. It's a hand-eye-repetitive practice driven game - similar to pool. Huge following, $$$$$ and sponsors.

They have sticks and balls and companies who makes those who could make fancy cues made by the same company as all these golfers favorite name brand. Some of the technology from shafts could be interchangeable for carbon fiber/graphite. Both games used to be played with wooden shafts - pool still is.

How could pool get on golf's coat-tails? What golfer wouldn't want a Callaway or TaylorMade Pool Cue?

PXG Founder (Bob Parsons) - billionaire and founder of Go Daddy would be an interesting ambassador. Nobody makes cues the way we do...PERIOD!

What would be the upside to it being a private club?

All RKC has to do is stop with the 'i'm gonna save pool' nonsense and people might give him some air. He can't do it because he's delusional and nothing but a talker.

He also did a episode (unrelated to pool) where he talked about Earl smoking a bunch of weed.

Joe, if you are reading this, please do a 3 hour episode with Earl where you get him absolutely so baked you two wind up in another dimension.

As a private club, a better level of overall competition. Anyone willing to commit to a couple thousand
dollars annually is surely a more serious minded and likely stronger overall pool player. The facility and
equipment would receive more care and attention since every player has a vested interest in keeping the
place and equipment in tip top condition. Table availability could be 24/7 with keycard access and CCTV
to ensure members don’t abuse their membership privileges. There wouldn’t be deafening music played
like at so many pool halls. There’d be the sense of being a elite pool player, like Cypress Point Golf Club.
You don’t get to play there unless a member invites and accompanies you for a round of golf. The same
would be true for a private billiards club. Take out some 9’ tables and add a 12’ snooker & billiards tables.
It would be so much more pleasant, cleaner atmosphere and more available than just going to a pool hall.

I suspect it’s already waning. I loved it when he had guests like the mushroom dude who is so devoted to mushrooms that he made his hat out of them. Now, it’s .. well.. I’m not sure. I tuned out a while ago.
He has been sucked into the Covid Vortex..once you take a firm position on that topic which is highly political you turn off a big chunk of your audience. That seems to be a part of what is going on there. Still very successful and doing well for himself however.

My post was more geared towards how golf, the game and equipment are cousins and how it’s popularity and money sheets on pool and was there a way to ride their coat tails.

Most good solutions start with great questions. You seemed derailed about fuc yourself daddy. I won’t try to understand that.
