Could this be the Future of Pool?

I read that the money they gave Phil (the gambler) was more than Tiger made in his whole career.
Tiger has earned more than $1,700,000,000 ($1.7 billion), before taxes and agent fees,
on and off the golf course since turning pro 26 years ago. His PGA career earnings is
$121,000,000 and LIV supposedly paid Mickelsen upwards of $200 million to quit the
PGA tour. But make no mistake that the white whale LIV wanted was Tiger Woods who
basically told them “Nuts to you.” They offered Tiger high 9 figures to sign & he said “No.”
He wants nothing to do with the LIV tour & remains committed to promoting the PGA tour.

It's funny that people think Pools' link to Bar rooms is what's holding sponsorships back from the game. I just watched a CornHole (I don't know if it's spelled as one word or two) competition on ESPN with major sponsors and a first place prize of $100,000. Cornhole. A game usually played with a beer in one hand and a bean bag in the other.
For some reason the American Cornhole Association has been able to sell this particularly ridiculous game (IMHO) to sponsors and the sports media. Pool needs an organization that can influence both. Matchroom is the best we have at this point in time. We may not se coverage on American TV, but in Europe SkySports airs Matchrooms' events.
My 2 cents!
Pool is too difficult for many to enjoy. Throwing a bag into a hole from a distance is much easier.

This is by far the most money ever paid out for a professional golf tournament held in the United States or anywhere else in the world, except for the first LIV Golf event held two weeks ago. The USGA and the PGA look like they are fighting fire with fire by jacking up their prize funds exponentially. One other thing - this event (the U.S. Open) paid far more players and paid deeper than even the LIV event did with only 48 players. 49th thru 64th still earned around 40K here.

My final thoughts on this budding rivalry - Most of these pro players (even the journeyman tour players) found fame and fortune thanks to the PGA Tour. A typical tour player who finishes in the top 125 players at the end of the year earns well over a million dollars in prize money and at least another half million in endorsement money (most make close to a mil there too). Why they would desert that tour for an unknown quantity defies reason. What if they lose their tour status and the Saudi's pull out after a year or two. Where are they now, back playing on their local mini tours maybe? Pretty stupid move in my book. And they would deserve it for being so disloyal to the organization that made them so well off to begin with. Being greedy will often prove costly in the end!

I've talked to exactly ONE of my golf pals who like anything about LIV. I want to see: the best players(PGATour), best competition(ditto), on the best courses. LIV offers none of this. Just a massive cash grab. If they don't make a deal within two yrs it won't last. PGATour and DPTour(Euro tour) are currently in talks to forge even stronger ties. If this happens LIV maybe dead.

All the pool promoters as well as leagues etc are businesses, not charities. They are there to do the best for themselves, not somebody else, and as such they are competitors by definition and necessity. While it can sometimes benefit all the competing businesses in a sector to work together, this is pretty rarely the case outside of occasional and very well defined small scale collaborations. I've seen no compelling evidence that it would benefit all the pool organizations to actively work together, and they all obviously feel the same evidenced by their mostly not working together.

It never ceases to amaze me why people think pool promoters or leagues should actively work together when their whole purpose as a business is to out compete the other ones, not help them. You never hear people as a matter of reflex saying Walmart and Target should work together. You never hear people saying this grocery store and that grocery store should work together. Only in pool. It's silly.
the attitude that buisness only get buisness at the expense of otherr buisness is not only destructive to every one but ultimtly tends to get the worst service at the highest cot n my oppinion. having run run a succseful buisness for 25 years now I understand that if I pass buisness on to others than I get buisness passed back to me.
