Could use a hand learning about this cue plz

I'm quite sure I know it's an Adam A-H Corsair (36?) from mid 70's

What I'm unsure of, and what I'd like to know is how 1 of y'all ultra knowledgeable folks would assess its condition, and whether it's had any repair or restoration work done to it...but my feeling is that it hasn't

I've had it for the better part of 20 yrs, and I got it from a dear friend, who got it from his dad, who my buddy says won it (I THINK in a game, not tournament) in Long Island, back in the mid/late 70's, early 80's

I did my best to include relevant pics, and can take more, if needed

Thx in advance to any & all who reply

Heh heh...it'd be a peach of a house cue, no doubt. But I can't imagine they'd last long in that setting, yikes

Whattaya know about the original shafts for these that makes ya say that?

Looks original to me. Nice old wand.

It is indeed, thx. From what I've seen looking around when I was trying to identify it, it sounded like it was pretty common for them to be swelling, warping & generally falling apart after
25 - 30 yrs

This 1 appears to have had a good & easy life from the start
...lucky

I have a Biagio cue made by Adam probably sometime in the '80's and it looks like it was made yesterday.

Niiice...is there something in particular that makes a biagio?

That's a new 1 for me, so I took a look & it seems like kind of a sub brand that was made my many different names
...which made me curious if there's any distinctive features they all have in common

Yes! You can reach around a corner, and poke someone with most of them, {if that is what you like to do.}
Haha, sorry if that was a dumb question. In my journey to becoming a specialist in a thing or two...I've experienced suddenly becoming aware of the existence of much more nuanced, and ever finer levels of knowledge & understanding than I 1st expected

(like, right when ya think ya know something...higher, more detailed levels of understanding become apparent, & we realize we've only begun ta scratch the surface)

Soo I always do my best not to assume, especially when I know I'm still at the starting line of learning about a particular thing

...which is the case for me with acquiring a detailed knowledge of all the various aspects of cues & which effects what, in what way

Appreciate the reply, aand the snicker

It's too bad more people don't have the attitude about knowledge that you do. It seems the people with the least real knowledge are the loudest detractors when someone says something they don't know, they must be kookoo , why, because I never heard of that.
There has only been one subject I did not find that to be the case, whenever you start talking about Quantum Physics and String Theory , almost everybody shuts up.

How does it hit?
Ummm, I would say I probably don't have the breadth of experience swinging a variety of truly great cues to answer that with the kind of sincerity & detail, the more established members here could

Aand I haven't swung it myself, since I think '09 maybe
(I'm working on getting it out there asap)

...buuut with that in mind, there was never anything alarming, or off about it, or even enough to make me think twice about using it over the ~$700 (iirc) '98 Pechauer I bought new back in its year of production, which if memory serves, definitely has a l'il bit more of a ping to it

I certainly don't recall any rattles or vibrations, or anything that seemed out of order

Too true...I'm not yet 50, and I miss the days of young and mature/wise, or even middle aged & mature/wise, not being exceedingly rare, much less mutually exclusive combinations to come across

Although I spent a good chunk of my young adult years traveling (and even another bunch of years once I "landed") in a bubble of outstanding & unusual people, living in, yet outside of typical society, sooo...kind of a charmed life, some call it

Aand ya...fer real about quantum mechanics. I imagine that gets little audience participation of any kind, 😁 heh heh

So the day may be coming where I decide to (finally) part with this cue

I noticed the template in the for sale section & want to be sure to post accurate info, even though I'm sure most of y'all know all this just by looking

Anyone mind giving me a hand with these?

I got weights from a digital kitchen scale I don't know that I can totally trust, but it's probably close...just an fyi

You would probably get way more money listing this cue on eBay vs selling it here.

And when it comes to eBay listing descriptions, less is more...

The particular thing that makes it a Biagio is that it's marked Biagio on the butt cap.
Made by the Adam cue company in Japan.
Not my cue but close.
