Hello All,

Apparently, the WPA still does not truly believe in PR nor Marketing  :p  so there is nothing on the official WPA Website about their upcoming (sanctioned) event.

However, with the World Teams Championship 2014 coming really soon, you may like to know (and discuss) the results of the draw that (apparently) has been done already. As far as I was able to find out these are the official results of the draw – groups:

GROUP A
PHILIPPINES
POLAND
USA
BULGARIA
CYPRUS

GROUP B
CHINA 1
SWEDEN
HONG KONG
CROATIA
MONGOLIA

GROUP C
UNITED KINGDOM
GERMANY
AUSTRIA
SOUTH AFRICA
VENEZUELA

GROUP D
CHINA 2
AUSTRALIA
VIETNAM
SINGAPORE

GROUP E
CHINESE TAIPEI
KOREA
RUSSIA
NEW ZEALAND

GROUP F
JAPAN
INDONESIA
INDIA
MALAYSIA

Team consists of 4 persons (1 female player and 3 male players). Would be interesting to know beforehand who will represent respective countries. Anybody has any info on that ?

Team Germany practicing

Also wouldn't have known that, but then the German Team has been practicing in our club again!
Germany will be represented by Ralf, Thorsten, and it seems Sebastian Staab (German Master) and Ina Kaplan (strong German Woman).

It was very nice watching them, cause they've just been practicing my favorite discipline: doubles play!

Ralf and Thorsten made only very few mistakes playing 10-ball. But in 8-ball they ran out EVERY rack together...

This is great - like the Mosconi Cup but world-wide. It's not much more than a week away, the teams must be set. Since this is also run by Matchroom (I think), I wonder if Mark Wilson is involved at all in the American side. It seems like some of the same players would be involved. I wonder who the American woman would be...

UK Team

I believe the UK team is Darren Appleton, Karl Boyes, Daryl Peach and Allison Fisher...pretty sporty team!!!

Wedge

Philippines - Dennis O., Carlo Biado, Lee Van Corteza and Rubelin Amit. A very strong team!

isn't this the very same event the BCA said no USA players wanted to attend several years ago and had a ton of pros coming out of the woodwork asking "who the f$%^ did you call"? Would not surprise me if there was no USA team again this year.... The BCA needs to be on notice.. Someone is coming for you... May not be me.. May not be Greg at Diamond... May not be Mark at CSI... But your stewardship has to end......

Chris

If it is to be streamed like the world nine ball I'll be watching. What are the dates for this?

Team Poland

TEAM POLAND

KATARZYNA WESOLOWSKA – 2014 European Champion (Women, 10ball)
MATEUSZ SNIEGOCKI – 2013 European Champion (Men, 10ball)
TOMASZ KAPLAN – 2011 European Champion (Men, Straight Pool)
KAROL SKOWERSKI – 2012 World Pool Masters Champion

Looking forward to this. Hope they stream it. It will be on TV so should be able to catch stream
UK won first edition in 2010, Taiwan won in 2012, The format is pretty good - when teams are tied at 3-3 score, they go to shootout (much like penalty shootout in soccer) -first to reach at least 6 points and also by 2 points (eg. 6-4, 7-5)

Who is the USA sending?

Also, is the World Cup in September the tournament in which Shane picked Earl as his partner?

Me mikeyfrost and Juice are going for team USA. Taking applicants for female partner. Pool skills not needed.
