I heard he is still in the Dallas area and doesn't play much anymore. I saw Donnie Brown a cou;le of months ago and he said he hasn't talked to him in a while.

Last rumor I heard hope its not true. He is receiving free room and board, courtesy of the state.

Too bad, years ago he told me about some backers he had down south, guess it truly may be easier to win at pool than other ways, thx for the update RG. I know JR Harris is down your way too, but I've heard he's literally on the farm with his gal.

Since we are rumor mongering, I heard "his gal" was Melanie Koger who was a really good player from New Mexico.

And I also heard they may have found religion.

Jeff,

Melanie Kroger is a good player, she used to play at the Tuesday night Rusty's toury, I think she was a 6.

How long has that been? Last I heard he was with Julie Mason, '97 BCA national champion out of Wichita. But then I don't get out much.

Melanie was with Junior. That's what I heard last as well - that they found religion and she was focusing on her furniture business. Damn she shot well! Coy Lee was with Julie Mason and then Krystia. Last I saw Coy Lee was about 3 or 4 years ago at Rusty's in Arlington.

Melanie and I hung around together at one time...

We were going to play Scotch Doubles at the BCA but we never got together about the details and she ended up playing with Louis Roybal from Albuquerque...

And if I am not mistaken they won the whole thing...

I played Mr. Lee in a handicap tourny. He went to 5 I had to go to 3?, he won and we played alternate breaks. Coy's a boss! He went over the shots I missed and general pointers. I went 4 matches strong on loosers side then lost to some cat named dylan.

Tell em I said Hi.

Talk about waking up a thread from the dead...To keep this on topic, Coy's been playing in the Omega Tour stops that are run by our very own AKATrigger. He still plays all of the weekly tournaments that pay pretty well, and still plays jam up. Heck, he even joined our league team that plays out of Arlington.

I was pretty 'green' in the pool world but had been to a few tournaments as a railbird and really liked the way Coy played. I went up to Coy, who didn't know me from Adam, before a tournament started and asked if he was going to buy 1/2 himself in the Calcutta which he said no. I asked him if I could buy half and offered him a 25% jelly if he cashed.

Coy cashed but came in one of the lower Calcutta places. I walked up to him to hand him his 25%. He looked at me and said, you lost money, you don't owe me a thing. Myself not realizing the mentality that my cost should come off the top. Coy earned my respect for life that day and I hope he is doing well.
